We drew to our rivals, away in a buzzing stadium that has been very hyped up over the last few weeks, and was a scrappy game!

Both teams forms added to the encounter and in the end Pompey defended very well.

A few positives to take and with our next two games being at home I am feeling quite confident!

Only downside was not winning but I would've taken a point before the game <ok>

We have done excellently this season and if someone said at the beginning of the season that we would be top 2 by Christmas you would've laughed. We are making new strides all the time and we have got a good result today and done very well so far this season. <ok>

We have demolished teams like Middlesborough, Birmingham and Brighton and a whole host of teams that are looking for promotion so we can have a very Merry Christmas!

    <cheers>

The next two games are at home and winnable!

Let's create an electric atmosphere and get behind the team like a couple of months ago!

    We're top of the league!

A packed house against Palace (potentially a sell-out?) is a good starting base for that. As I've said elsewhere, I've every confident of 6 points from these two games.

the players need a kick up the backside - they're becoming too complacent IMO

It's a very good point today against a Pompey team who are normally pretty decent at home, and won away at Burnley in their last game. Ok, we weren't at our attractive, free flowing best, but we still kept the opposition very quiet and on chances created, were the best side on the day, i'll take that.
P.S., I also think that we'll win our next 2 games. Merry Xmas...<party>

Okay we didn't play great today but I thought we were the better team in a typical frenetic derby. Complacent???? No way, I was there today and I was also there watching a shower of s**t in red and white in 2005 who completely bottled it. Our team today is one we should be proud of, today they all were all committed (Guly is Guly).

Morgan is being completely wasted out on the wing. He is probably the best passer of the ball in the championship and yet he is playing on the right wing. To me this is a fundamental reason in why our football has gone slightly pearshaped. Earlier in the season he would get it and move it on, get it move it on, he is the player to pull the strings and keep us ticking.

Disappointed not to win after being ahead as Pompey created nothing in the second half. However, we stopped our run of away defeats and will be able to bring in a fresh face or two in January.

Few new faces in Jan to freshen things up a bit and we will be fine. The problem is lack of depth at the moment the first eleven picks itself pretty much week in week out , a few extra bodies around the place competing for the first team will keep everybody on there toes and hopefully the performances will get better.

I reserve the right to be really really cross about a team that is top of the league at Xmas with 13 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses. Mmmm..haven't seen this chap much considering we're having a good season.<party><party><party>

Yeah, how dare they be top of the league.

They should be mid-table, where we can moan at them every ****ing week.

    **** sake.

Of course they know teams are breathing down our necks. They have been doing so for 3 months now. If we are top for another 3 months then brilliant. So far this season we are over-achieving in my opinion so we shouldn't slate the players/management when we go through a slight drop in form!

I dont understand the need for these constant 'everybody must be constantly happy threads'. This forum would be SOOO boring if everybody just repeated that we're top of the league and everything is good the whole time. The point of this forum is to debate and to hear different views. Personally I am thrilled how the team is doing but at least its interesting debate to hear people with different views. The only time negativitiy matters is at the ground which is a problem at the moment I feel but why does it matter on an internet forum?

agreed! if we were all positive and agreeing there wouldnt be much to debate - negativity at least gives us something to debate even if its only nitpicking stupid things that dont matter
