Many people seem to be getting fed up with Grayson, first time I've heard Grayson out chants today. We were pathetic! So what do we think of Holloway? Well... He plays attractive and entertaining football, worked on a small budget at Blackpool. Certainly plays the way you want your team too. I'd love him as manager and think we could prize him from Blackpool. Thoughts?
Stick with Grayson and get a new chairman. Holloway won't be able to do anything Simon's not been able to. Nor will any manager, for that matter. And I heard no Grayson out chants today, just venom towards the chairman. And rightly so.
Right near the end mate in the south stand, only a minority though. Grayson appears to be clutching at straws lately, and hes been pants in the market. Holloway finds talent on the cheap and gets the team playing the right way.
I don't know that Holloway's better than Grayson in the transfer market. Who's he signed for Blackpool on the cheap who've been good? I know he got Charlie Adam, but not sure whether that was even his scouting and not sure who else he's signed. Ultimately, we wouldn't be having this discussion if Bates had backed our managers properly. That's the root of the problem - attack the root, not the branch. When I've watched his Blackpool, they've looked quite weak and penetrable in midfield and at the back. Like us, in other words. So I don't think he'd really improve our playing style or defending any. Just a short-termist move to please the fans. This is a time where we need consistency more than anything.
Holloway got Blackpool promoted to the PL with less money than Grayson's had, so that's one thing he's done that Grayson hasn't been able to do. The squad Holloway inherited at Blackpool were pretty much a rag-tag bunch, mostly Grayson signings, but with a few tweaks here and there and a couple of astute additions he got them organised & up, with a wages budget of roughly half that which Grayson has, so to say they're managers of equal ability is rubbish.
Would have no problem with Holloway. Loved watching his post match interviews last season. Now back to reality. He wouldnt come to us at the present time. Why? 1 bates wont sack larry no matter how bad results get. bates isnt bothered about promotion but would like a crack in the playoffs to bolster his coffers 2 Holloway would have no larger a budget at leeds than blackpool 3 He would have to reshape a squad at Leeds, about half of which are not championship standard 4 with his personality, I doubt he would last a week with Bates Im afraid , our next manager, whenever that will be, will be just as average as Larry. Thats what he is you know. Hes not bad, not great, just very very average
Holloway isn't any better than Grayson, on par with each other I would say, if he is better only marginal and the BIG question is what manager would leave their club and work under Bates with no funding to build a team? No disrespect to Blackpool but what are their fans expectations? Leeds fans expect and demand Premiership football, I guarantee that when and if we do get promoted give it one season and fans will be saying we should be playing in Europe, it can't be easy managing a Leeds Utd team at this present moment in time
Wheres this 'No Backing' coming from? If you tot up all our signing on fees, loans wages, transfers, its clear he has been backed! Not massively I agree, but he has. Our football is completely ****e. His signings have been ****e.
Bad signings Clayton Gradel McCORMACK,SCHMICHAEL KISNORBO CONNELLY WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
Bruce, Bromby, O'Brein, Clown/Rachubka, Paynter, Brown, Dickov, Bannan&Livermore (Never played so poor), the list is endless! Many more bad than good. Look at the bigger picture. The squad is poor; thin, no pace, no creativity, its his squad. Our style of football is poor, we dont even have one?!
If Grayson's still here in January no doubt O'Dear will be added to the list of poor signings, in fact he'll be the worst signing of the lot.
Let us all be really honest here, any other manager (except that ****er Roy Keane) would do a better job than Grayson. He has no man management skills, no discipline, no respect and his understanding of how a game is shaping iis absolutely woeful, professional players laughing at his tactics!
I dont think he's a terrible manager at all. But I feel his capabilities have reached a maximum with us now. In other words, he's took us as far as he can. Thanks very much Grayson, great memories and grateful for your efforts. Time to step aside and let someone finish the job and go on to greater things.
Holloway wouldn't leave Blackpool for us. What's he to gain? similar league positions, budget, squad ect. Stick with Grayson, best manager since Sgt Wilko (every manager since then has needed lost of money for success and when they didn't we failed till Grayson). If we sack him you'll hate the next manager more, because we won't get a better manager in our condition.
So why was he so in and out the team? Forest at home stands out last year, played great amd was running the show, got subbed... Ended up pissing all the CM's off by pointlessly rotating them!
care to show us the managers doing better with less money,as they would be the only one's proven better.
