for me this was a game of 2 halves. we were poor in the first, maybe the worst ive seen this season, our normal passing game went to pieces, we sat way too deep and it was a minor miracle that we came in without conceeding. the 2nd half we grew in confidence, saw more of the ball, frustrated them and started to create a few chances of our own. of course i would have taken a point before the game but i was dissapointed that we obviously set out looking for a draw from the start - that hasnt been our usual ploy and im wondering if Brendan is changing it cos of our poor away form? overall im happy with the point but really hope we dont play like that against Everton. the negatives - sat too deep and we didnt get our forwards involved - i love our style of football but we need to get the ball up the field when the ball is on. Whats happened to Nathan? the positives - much more solid in defence, Jazz is growing in confidence, Agustien looked good, Vorm class as usual and MOTM Leon for me.
i'd put arsenal, chelsea, spurs, liverpool, man united, man city and aston villa ahead of you, thats 7 places taken, and once ba runs out of steam where will the goals come from? as for ben arfa, as i've said he's got talent, but at this rate it will go unfulfilled, he went on strike when he's paid to train and play football, what a disgusting attitude that is, how will you feel if another club bid for him if he comes good in the future and he goes on strike? sounds like his attitude stinks.. i'm not surprised marseille wanted him out.. £7m isnt cheap, i'd say thats around his value, maybe a little more at a push..
I just watched MOTD and we should have won that game, we were so close so many times. That is probably the best result of your season so far.
we have to give newcastle credit, they had us on the ropes in the first half, which is only to be expected, but in the second half we came more into the game and earned a very good point i thought.
Anyone who thinks villa are still a top side hasn't watched them this season. Shadow of previous years
A game of 2 halfs sums it up perfectly, once Gower was changed for Kemy and Brenden was able to get into the boys we were better, but of course we do have to give credit to Newcastle, they played well.
I wasnt impressed with Villa when they came to the Liberty, i think the tragic news of Gary speed didnt help though, i would fancy us against them at their place TBH
they might lack in technical ability, but they certainly make up for that with aggression and firepower up front, not a team i'd like to watch every week but they'll be top 10 without a doubt
If Ba isn't playing we don't go down to 10 men, you know. Another striker swoops in. We're probably going in for another one in January, and we got by just fine with the likes of Best and HBA whilst Ba was sluggish in his first few games and didn't score. I'd put Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Man United and Man City ahead of us. Villa? No. Maybe with a better manager they could, but as it stands, McLeish is playing them far too defensively. They also lost some very important players and N'Zogbia has failed to step up since his move. I'm not going to enjoy that side of him, but we have him, so we may as well try and get the most out of him. He's still coming back after his leg break though, and I think we're saving him for West Brom next week. The guy is a prodigy, and he's been regularly touted by pundits as one of the best players to come out of France in a generation. The leg break didn't help, but if we can get him back to his best he could be worth an absolute fortune. He's still rusty as he's finding his confidence again, but there have been some glimpses of play which are just superb and far ahead of anything our current players can do. I know it's only a Youtube video, but this is after he only played 3 or so games before his leg break, was out for over a year and then this was (I believe) his first start since the break. It's good enough for me.
terrible game with the toon much better at going forward and looked like they could score. thank god for vorm thats all i would say, not a single shot on target all game and someone said danny had a good game. what bloody game was you watching he was useless and clueless, we should have played Lita at least he takes on the defence and tries to create space, And as for sinclair then he needs to be dropped and sent to the reserves until he sorts himself out, he was pathetic and fans are starting to question on whether the premiership is a step up to far for him and they have a point....Well we did get a point but only through probably one of a handful of players capable of playing in the premiership....our super keeper vorm....
Hang on .. we ARE the fans and I don't see many, if any, questioning whether the Premier League is a step up too far for him.
name and shame like i say proper fans who know about football that looks at the whole picture and can see where we are failing....never mind keep learning and you will get there one day..
as i've said countless times before, HBA has talent, but that means nothing unless its fulfilled. so far in his career he hasnt done that and he's not in his teens any more, he's got to start producing, he's 24 and in danger of not realising his potential, and it seems that his attitude is to blame, i'll admit i'm wrong if he becomes top drawer but for now he's just a player who's wasted his talent.. and using youtube videos to prove a player is good is a bit foolish, playing well consistently carries more weight. i suspect you would be delighted with a top 10 finish at the end of the season, if i'm right on that count then be big enough to come back here and admit you were wrong if thats so..
If you are going to make me 0.1% then you don't need those zeroes - they're a waste of time You talk about 'fans' as if they are some mysterious set of all-knowing people that only you have access to. Dai, I'm really hurt that you think I'm not a proper fan and I don't know what I'm talking about.
dai shut up every player has a bad run. bet last week when sinclair and graham scored they were the best thing since sliced bread. how can you blame players if the manager has asked them to do something else?
There is no doubt that sinclair isnt playing at 100% right now but i would be inclined to think he will play himself back into form, to not play well but still be a goal threat is not all bad, looking at some of the sitters he has missed this season makes you think about how clinicle he was for us last year! Its not the striker its the supply, both Lita and DG have proved they can score given the chances, what we dont have is a goal threat from midfield, step forward Britton, allen,Gower, dobbie,Kemy etc . Goals have to come from more than 1 place, take sinclair and graham out and there is hardly any goal threat what so ever !
there are fans who like me are good at analyzing games and can see where we are lacking and then there are most fans on here that knows jack ****,,,,we are all fans its just some like me are far more knowledgeable than the rest,..its no big deal and dont fret yourself about it...
