It's worse than Barton on Pedersen for me, Barton's was a reaction that was wrong and deserved a 3 match ban, Rooney's was a pre-meditated assault.

 

And yet on the Man U board they have a tread entitiled "Motd trying to hang Rooney up to dry" or words to that effect. Full of smug Manure fans either defending him or acting smug because they think he's going to get away with it. Some even seem to think that the media must be out to get him! ****ing twats!

 

After being elbowed by Fellaini earlier in the season. And then being "bodychecked" by Bendtner before he scored and got no punishment, then he bodychecked Elmander and was given a 3 game ban.

Rooney will get away with it as well

Because its Rooney he won't get banned.The ref had a word with him and did nothing.
IMO it is worse than Williamson's bodycheck on whoever it was and Bartons light punch on Penderson.
Sadly though,I dont think the FA will look into it.

Referee Mark Clattenburg is due to submit an account of Wayne Rooney's clash with Wigan's James McCarthy to the Football Association, which will determine whether the Manchester United striker faces a three-match ban.

 

Nothing will happen then, Clattenburg won't want to hurt his friendship with the whole man united squad.

 

It's is worse than what Barton did to Pederson (which deservedly got him banned) and 10 times worse than what Williamson did to Elmander after a body check (which I think Elmander made the most of, as he did it the weekend. Bad challenge but he played it up).

Isn't Clattenburg the ref who was suspended after there were funny going ons with his business?

 

The whole country saw the incident, if the FA do FA about it heads will be called for. Justice has to be seen to be done.

Clattenburg has courted controversy before this and his integrity has been questioned.

 

If Clattenburg puts anything bad in his report Alex Ferguson will fine him 2 weeks wages!!
