Barnard out for two months or so

According to Jordan Sibley on twitter, Barnies had his op and should be out for about 2 months...

 

shame i think I will write his season off to be honest - he was quality in league1 and would have done well in the Champ had he been fit

 

Sad to say but don't think we will ever really see him reguarly in a Saints shirt again, which is a shame as works very hard, could of done with him coming off the bench today to be honest.

 

Probably at least two strikers needed in January then. Connolly has been missed (especially think his link up with Lallana is excellent) but you can't rely on Connolly avoiding injury from Jan to May. Don't have any other strikers in reserve or youth ready to step up.

So, dive into the market.

 

Problem is if he is out for 2 months or more that'll take him up to his court case. Then he could be locked up, could be the last we see of barny. As CBK said we need at least 2 strikers now i'd say rhodes and sharp?.

 

Think this is the thing we miss about Connoly the most, he really brought best out of Lallana early in the season.

 

He's way too injury prone for his age, Not sure we will see him again but you never know.

 

Shame for Barney..he's missing a good season. If we buy a striker in January, I too will be surprised to see much more of Barnard, especially if we gain promotion.

 

How far is Jake Sinclair off being ready for the first team? I like the looks of what I've seen. We definately need signings up front though. An intelligent striker with a good turn of acceleration off his marks. Players with sheer pace are often quite limited technically and are only really needed for kick and rush football, which isn't our thing anyway.

 

i would probably say a long way off - he looks to lightweight at the moment, a lot of growing and streghenting yet!

 

The defenders he plays against absolutely cack themselves. I don't expect he'll ever have the physical prowess of Lambert or Guly, but I was thinking more along the lines of "is he likely to be on the verge of the first team this season?" Not many of the youths have much physical stature, JWP looks positively emaciated in comparison to the first team!

 

true true he might be involved in the cup at some stage, but he has another 2 years of developing yet so if not this season, definetely the next at some point
