Remains to be seen, but Liverpool are nowhere near where they were last year, Forest have taken a nosedive.....us (being Chelsea) probably are a little bit better, City about the same I would say.
I think people are just upset because they wanted a title race, and for the second year running, it doesnt look like there is going to be one.
I guess I just don't think Liverpool were that good. Salah was phenomenal but they scrapped through a LOT of games and had many a favourable VAR decision.

They werent really, they won the league with the lowest total since Leicester, everyone else just had **** seasons, we werent anywhere near, Spurs and United **** the bed completely, and Arsenal and City were in transitional seasons.

Even if you drop points at Villa, I still dont see anyone beating you for the league, as has just been proven, our managers tactical naivety and a lack of quality at the back will not see us good.
And City are far too attack minded, they can score goals for fun but they are leakier than a busted tap at the back.

I'm not convinced by this yet.

Firstly, even though we've been able to navigate through it ok, the injuries we've been getting have been alarming. I didn't think it could get worse than last season, but we've somehow managed to outdo ourselves. We need a period where we have a settled first XI, especially in the second half of the season. If we continue to pick up injuries at the rate we have been, it could derail us completely.

Secondly, City haven't impressed me at all either, yet we are only 5 points in front of them - which is NOT a lot. And whilst, as I've said previously, that I didn't believe this City side is similar to their 22-23/23/24 teams, it would be foolish to dismiss them. I do think they will tighten up as the season progresses, but for as long as they have that Nordic cyborg up front, they will always be in with a chance.

Obviously, I want you to be right and that we can coast through to the title with no problems <laugh>. But I just don't see that happening.

Be interesting if Haaland got injured as well. Their whole system now is built around him.

Do they score more and win more points per game when he's in the team?
I recall a study a year ago that said the opposite.
Ironically, City used to play with far more goal threats across the team - similar to us now - and they were better for it.

I preferred the way Pep used to setup with a false 9. I'm not saying it's better now - more that he's just committed to it.

Selling Alvarez was a mistake also.

..and there is the difference with City - we open the door by choking and they run through it. No mistakes.
We're not even at the business end of the season and we're choking on every big game.

City lost to Villa away, Newcastle away, drew to us. They’ve only won three away league games. There’s no difference here, just a week where we have a hard fixture and they have an easy one. Give over. When they lost to Newcastle, we beat spurs. Did we choke there?

Bayern Munich not big game?!... Atletico Madrid not big game? Tottenham not big game?...City not big game?.. Newcastle away not big game?... Can't be easy playing for this Club if this is the level of negativity you get whilst being Top or the league & Top of the Champions League. <laugh><doh>

I am still pissed off after the Villa and Chelsea games - you will need to give me a month or so.

Good wins for City and Villa especially.
We've really thrown away a big advantage.
City probably the biggest threat to our chances of the title, but Villa already showed they are a better team than us and right now (with our players out) and are on fire... 9 wins on the spin. For them it will be about belief.

Why are the 'better team', with fewer injuries, and with fewer trickier away games played, 3 points below us in the league??

Interestingly Ornstein is saying that Maresca and his new Agent (Mendes) have been lining up a move to Man City.

Pep may leave at the end of the Season and City like Maresca as a replacement.

Would explain Marescas comments to the press in recent weeks.

10 wins on the spin for Villa.
We play them again soon.
After that game we’ll know whether it’s them or us who are the threat to City.
For them I think it’s about belief mainly now.
They look the best team right now.

City get late goal - looks like they are going top unless Forest can pull an equaliser out of the bag in the last couple of minutes.

Nah - City win and go top. On a roll.
That's a big win away to Forest.

Watch MOTD later to see the ref letting City off the hook - blatant second yellow to stop a player running through not given when it was 0-0.
Incredible decision by the ref not to send off the City defender for a second yellow. No chance in hell one of our players stays on the pitch for that.

Yeah watched the game. City weren't that good at all.
