Well, with Chelsea's result tonight, this match suddenly becomes even more important. Going into Thursday's match with a 2 point + game in hand advantage over Chelsea will be huge.
Plenty of web whispers, no Bale or King It means VDV and JD can both start, so that's an upside at least I guess, if the Bale rumour is true. I'd play Sandro and Parker with Modric Lennon and VDV attacking behind Ade, but that's me. I think most wouldn't want Sandro and Parker starting, and I don't suppose Harry will either. Whatever Harry calls, I'll happily go along with, I still trust him to get it right.
Apparently O'Shea hasn't been great for Sunderland so far (which means he'll be amazing today...) - if Bale doesn't start I'd stick Lennon on the left - he poses more of a goal-threat (from himself) on the left as he can cut in onto his right foot. I hope Bale does start though :S
BREAKING TOTTENHAM TEAM NEWS: Ledley King is back for Spurs' match against Sunderland but there is no Jermain Defoe or Gareth Bale for Harry Redknapp's side
Courtesy of DJ's thread on Facebook: TOTTENHAM team v Sunderland: Friedel; Walker, King, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Sandro, Parker, Modric; Van der Vaart; Adebayor. At least King's back - we've got a solid midfield with Sandro & Parker but would've liked to have seen Defoe in there.
Just seen! Maybe Pienaar then? I guess Sandro will play but as I said before, I'd prefer we go for a more attacking option. A shock start for Pav maybe? <run>
Apparently JD is injured. Well I'd rather we didn't get to see Sandro and Parker start through injuries, but this is the CM pairing I've wanted to see all season. I wish they had played v Stoke, so pleased they're together at last with both (hopefully) fully fit. Fantastic news too that King is back, not just for today but because there'd been bad rumours this latest 'knock' was a long term set back in the making. Hopefully King will make Thursday too, but at least Kaboul will be back by then. This is a good Spurs team, and I'm predicting a win.
Defoe's absence will add fuel to the transfer rumour fire. Hard to tell how Sunderland are lining up, but if O'Shea's at left-back with Richardson in front of him, then Lennon's pace should trouble the Irishman. Liverpool 2-0 up. Villa are crap.
I think Sandro and Parker will do us good,i'm sure we'll get goals and without Kaboul,Sandro can help out and let Parker get forward a little bit more.
This'll be an interesting test for Redknapp. The loss to Stoke last week, O'Neill's supposedly rejuvenated Sunderland and missing some important players. Be interesting to see how we line up.
Defoe's injury - is it an 'injury' or an injury? For example... (Basically, is Defoe out cos of the whole 'play me or I want to leave' thing or is it an actual injury?)
