I agree. Adebayor seems to do well in his first few months at a club and beyond that period he tends to lose form and just becomes a problem. Spurs are kidding themselves if they think he's committed to them. As long as the money's right, he'd play almost anywhere.
Exactly. He's already said he won't take a wage cut to play for Spurs. Guess he probably sees his time at Spurs as an opportunity to showcase himself for a full transfer in January / next summer...
A certain Russian team with a shed load of money, perhaps? Or Milan. They seem to like troublesome strikers.
Started but its a bit embarrassing when a game is this one sided, last time I watched barca take the piss like this was the CL final.
Good thing they weren't playing someone so **** they couldn't even qualify for Europe, like Liverpool for example, it would have been a World Record score.
How someone whose team aren't even in Europe can laugh at another team for losing the Champions League Final I will never know.
i watched all three game son sunday. What do utd fans (honeslty) think of their performance... the early goal allowed you to sit back but i just felt it was far from vintage stuff... is that the consensus? i see the ribbing on the CL is still going on... the hurt in utd fans is very obvious as the standard line for a comeback is being trotted out, thus ignoring their own sides disaster... privately it must hurt over all, liverpool slightly disappointing after a good start given how very poor villa are in midfield and city were only held back by the awfully funny badontelly... city were head and shoulder above all other sides on display even if they were not at thier best.... We play them in january 3 times so here's to the new year
I was glad we got the win but we were so wasteful with our chances and we should have won at least 7 nil.
I thought the performance could have been more clinical, but we did enough to win comfortably particularly given how well Cerny was playing. Given how much trouble Liverpool, Chelsea and even City have had against QPR I don't think it was realistic to expect us to completely dominate. And it's always nice to win well without being on top form - shows we have a bit extra we can pull out if needed. City once again did just what was needed to get a result when not playing well. They're looking more ominous as the season progresses - playing well or playing badly they almost always need to get a result. I think they'll have a bad run of results at some point - teams who are flying so high almost always do - but I don't think it will be bad enough for anyone to catch them. Although Mancini's recent comments about playing at home do smack a little of overconfidence, so fingers crossed the wheels will come off at some point. Liverpool were similar to Utd - did enough to get the goals and get the win with minimal trouble and without really hitting top gear. You've got a great opportunity to push for the top four in mid week, what with Arsenal and Chelsea having relatively tricky games. Let's see if you can keep the good form going this time - three wins in your next three games will be important if you still want top four.
No, it doesn't hurt. We got knocked out of a football competition early, sometimes that happens. It is a million miles from being remotely important. I thought we played well and, as Alan says, we should have had at least three more. The fact is the chances are being created and that's the good point, Carrick and Jones look like they could form a good enough partnership against the majority of clubs. They may find it difficult to cope with City away but other than that I reckon we're capable of putting in a decent defence of the league.
