An undeserved 6-0 win on Boxing Day would suit me just fine. <ok>

I fully expected us to score today especially if we kept Blackpool out for 60 mins. Ian Holloway's side are prepared to push up leaving space for opposition teams to attack and it sounds as if we did not make the most of this. Unfortunately for us we still do not have a proven goal scorer with a poachers instinct. Deeney might have given his all but he is not the answer at the moment. Still surprised that Sean did not bring on Garner and or Beattie for the last 10 or 15 mins.

Norway - It seems some bright education expected deemed that learning things like tables and reading and writing and not really essential, as long as a child can express themselves, well that is OK! Then we wonder what outs kids cannot compete....I had to re-treach Little Miss W_Y maths as what they were teaching her was utter tosh - I taught her basic maths and techniques for 3 months and she flew her GCSE..too many theories and administrators

Yeah agreed , lack of discipline and respect does not help matters either ,due to stupid laws and incompetents in the politicians , the teachers , administrators ! Whole thing needs to back to the days of the cane!

That should illicit a response from a few<laugh> Seriously though W-y your paying taxes to have your child educated and are having to do it yourself, should get a rebate in my eyes:)

Idiot reporters should go back to their flat caps whippets and pigeons....are we really "struggling Watford" a team beaten just once in the last 9 outings and that a dubious goal in itself? OK we've not got the points we'd like but I reckon we're giving a good account and with some good luck can look at the playoffs as easily as with bad luck look at relegation. The fact about the champ is it is very flat with all teams capable of beating each other on their day. I'm really really hoping for an uncharacteristic Jan-Feb push based on our wider squad base and the fact we've got a good bunch of young players with fresh legs to throw into the fray late season. Multiplication isn't officially introduced until P3 - ie 7 or 8 yo - although the concept is touched upon earlier. You & I are probably both from the age of rote learning, which has been frowned upon by politicians and educational 'experts' (neither of whom actually know anything about education) and is actively 'discouraged' in classrooms these days by inspectors, although some of us disguise it by presenting it as singing or games.

For an education minister to make such a statement, it simply highlights that he/she knows very little about the business of education, and probably shouldn't be in the job. For a start, it's simply impossible for every child to learn their times tables due to the ever increasing incidence of 'learning difficulties' that is encountered these days - an alarming number of children are simply incapable, a fact that politicians in particular seem unable to grasp. They appear to think that if a child is in school, he/she must learn & if he/she does not, then it's the fault of the teacher or the teaching method - nothing else crosses their minds.

Mind you, I do agree that too many children lack basic numeracy & literacy skills by the time they leave primary school -not just 'don't know their time tables'. I have my own thoughts on why, but they are probably not politically correct :(

Not sure why this is on the Blackpool match thread!
