You'll finish above Spurs. Spurs look good this season but they always end up going through a rough patch.
Fair play to Wigan, worked hard in that 2nd half. It's just a shame about the subs, what the **** was AVB thinking? Mikel, Malouda, Kalou - possibly some of our worst players this season. Ivanovic was awful, he's a right back and always should be used as one, we should've bitten the bullet and put Alex there today, same with Cech, no idea what happened there but ah well. Regarding the penalty shout - no way on earth was that a penalty, he's put his arms up to his body and it's been hit straight at him. Agree with you there Berb, draw was fair, but you said we didn't deserve our goal and I have no idea what makes you think that. We tore them apart in the first half, they just put 5 at the back so it was impossible to get through.
The goal was a bit out of the blue (excuse the pun). You hadn't really threatened in the 2nd half and Sturridge scored what looked like a half chance at best. Despite putting up a good fight I still think Wigan are a poor side and I still expect them to be relegated.
With someone that does make as many mistakes as Cech. He even has a nose guard now. Lacks the balls to be top keeper these days.
Just becase it was out of the blue, doesn't mean it isn't deserved. He only scored in the 60th minute where I believe we had control of the game so it was definitely deserved and a great goal. I also think they'll go down, but if they can play with that much heart in a relegation battle they should be alright.
He's still a good keeper. Not the same since his injury but still in the top 4 or 5 keepers in the Premier League.
We've got a Belgian lad, Courtois, playing for Atheltico Madrid's first team on loan at the moment. He will be giving Cech a run for his money when he's back. I agree with you, he doesn't really have the balls at the moment but that's only when he's crowded and understandably so. He still has great games though.
A draw is a fair result infact i'd go as far as saying Wigan are unlucky to only walk away with 1 point here. Chelsea were very average today. The jurys still out on AVB for me, still got a lot to learn the young lad. To substitute your 2 biggests threats infront of goal and replace them with a defensive midfielder and an out of form Malouda is mindbongling seeing that you were playing against a team thats in the bottom 3. be confident and go for more goals. Feel sorry for Torres, he doesnt deserve this alienation. PS: Coutious needs to come back and take over at goal. Truth be told cech has been atrocious all season.
ABV needs time. For once Abramovich needs to be patient with a manager and I think AVB will come good. Chelsea spent too much money on established players under Abramovich and not enough on youth.
We beat City and Newcastle, two games I was expecting to get a point AT MOST. Not the end of the world, we still played some good stuff and it was down to sloppiness and bad subs imo.
