Wow, he played an amazing game from start to finish today.

I know he wasn't the most popular player after the first few games, but he has really come into his own over the past few weeks. He seemed to always make the best pass available to him, broke up play, held together the midfield etc...

Players in that role at City over recent years always seem to get a lot of stick, but I don't see how anybody could complain about McKenna after that great performance.

Agree he was everywhere today and I thought Evans did well along side him.

Totally agree, was my man of the match, along with Rosenior.

Gets the ball down, spreads the ball well, and is a good organiser.

McKenna was MotM today, how did it go to Dawson?

I'd have put McKenna, Rosenior, or Fryatt ahead of him.

Sounds like a good performance and a great result against a side we have struggled against in the past.

Interesting to see that the last 2 games we have not picked up any bookings, is that due to NB coaching or the ref's have been kind to us?

Ref being kind to us, McKenna drop kicked one of their players today and the ref more or less gave him a pat on the back and said 'Well done son'

mckenna was definately very good, improving all the time...pleased dawson got it tho to be honest, nice too see some recognition, some of the stick he has got has been very unfair, can count on your fingers the number of times he has let us down over the last 8/9 years.

persoanly rate ricketss just above, not much in it but better more consistent delivery into the box from sam, imo.

Great performance by Mckenna today, his work in midfield gave Koren the chance to push forward and create chances himself and for Fryatt. Finally seeing the worth of Mckenna's signing and experience, and Evans alongside him is improving all the time.

Ricketts was a better crosser of the ball, but taking the rest of his game into account, I'd definitely put Rosenior ahead of him.

PM was imperious today. Kept it simple and played neat, tidy football.

I was waxing lyrical to my son about how he should keep a close eye on PM as perfect example of how a central midfielder should operate.
Always made himself available and kept the ball moving.

Sods law, just as I was singing his high praises for the umpteenth time he made his only one real error of the game.
That said it really was a great performance from the lad.

    Agreed.

Liam is improving every game though. Remember when he first came his crossing was beyond awful, now he puts in decent crosses nearly every game. He's a much better defender than Ricketts as well.

On the radio Swanny and Co said the same thing about McKenna and how he has come on leaps and bounds in the last 6 games or so, and was running the game. Really glad to hear this as it was what we have been missing under wallet-man.

Also if Rosenior could be coached to improve his crossing he would be a real star.

Can't totally judge the game as I only listen on Tigers player and watch highlights but I'm also glad that Andy Dawson's been recognised.
OK he's slow but he provides that bit of real experience at the back, which can be crucial at times in a young squad. Apart from the disaster when he first came on as a sub I think he's steadied the team and the results have come.

The midfield 3 of Mckenna, Evans and Koren really are a pleasure to watch at times. Mckenna just sits deep with Evans passing and moving creating space for Koren. I think Evans could be a top, top midfielder in a few years time, he never admires a pass as soon as it's left his foot he's on the move looking for the ball back again. Really enjoying watching us play at the moment and I think anyone who enjoys football being played the right way will also be loving our style, even opposition fans!

agreed, in many ways hes like ashbee..everytime theres a new signing in his position, people assume its the end of him..he may lose his place temporarily, but he always comes back on top and you can never write him off, ive nothing against dudgeon, i think hel be quality in a couple of years, but i like having an experienced head in the back line
