Exactly... I said same thing... Same money thrown at CB... Palace mager is out on his ear lol.

But even just 3 good decent squad players. I could see if we hadn't got Ekitike... Just felt like a statement buy that ...until now doesn't fit with Slots set up... That could change if course... Salah goes... Proper Isak type winger... (Need Gakpo replace too then).

But fine, if they are saying to slot it's 3 years to build your own team because ...no matter how good Klopps was... It's not suited to your plans... Ok.

as I say... I didn't think he was priority either... But if 4 out 5 years are busting nets ..we will forget this convo lol
Tbh, I don't think any of us thought Ekitike would be this good, this quick.

Because it was a slight tug on the back of the shirt, it in no way impeded wirtz.

If it was the other way round youd be screaming about cheating Italians and bents referees.

It was a joke of a penalty.
its europe they play to a different tune and for once it went our way was how i view it but obviously no way would i have given it <laugh>.

though having said that i have little sympathy for players whose first thought when defending is to grab the opponents shirt ot his actual body

This is the rule:

  • Direct Free Kick: Awarded for holding an opponent, which includes shirt pulling that restricts movement.
It restricted movement. Its a foul by the letter of the law.

I love this. The letter of the law rolled out when it benefits. Common sense when it doesn't.

You can't moan like **** about bad decisions, then when a bad decion goes your way, try to justify it.

**** me.

I think we're at the point of expecting to lose so will probably win.
Good call lol
But I do think we have been playing better without Salah
Purely because of the balance
Won’t repeat what I have already said it a few times

but good win that tonight against tough opponents

If you don't stick to the letter of the rules things become ambiguous and then how far do you stray from the rules?
Everyone knows where they stand when the rules are stuck to and applied.Unfortunately the football bodies don't do consistency very well.

Good win. Inter have some great players but overall i wasn't that impressed with their team. Hated the head holding again by one of theirs - Thuram? when Jones struck him in the neck/chest.

The disallowed goal was harsh. Anything that takes 4 minutes to review isn't clear and obvious. Wirtz made the most of the shirt pull but definitely a penalty for me. He was on course to getting the ball back and was impeded. If it happened the other end, I would say the same.

Don't usually listen to the pundits but Seedorf and Sturridge talked a lot of sense.

The penalty was blatant shirt pulling, why are you all making excuses that it wasn’t.
Because it happens about 10 times a game
I always judge pens on my anger scale had it been awarded against us vs Man Utd
I would have been fooking livid

but by todays rules the first one should have stood
(Although for me it’s handball as it played a part in getting the ball to the goalscorer)

so those two evened out

the rest of the baffling decisions did not even out

Said the other day, you can only afford 1 of your 11 not to work hard, track and defend and it shouldn't be the Right Winger, who is supposed to be helping the RB. It's your CF, as the opposition CBs rarely are key to attacks.

Worked fine when we had Bobby/Mane or Diaz/Nunez who were absolute workhorses when it came to closing down and getting up and down the lines.
And it was something we could handle when Salah was delivering.

Things have changed and age has caught up.

The referee had an awful game so the major decisions kind of evened themselves out.

It was a professional performance. I think these more boring games are something we may have to get used to as a sacrifice for having a more balanced side, but the passing and pressing was generally better than previous games

It was an Italian team, with a back 5, who have built around being solid, in Italy. It was never going to be a high scoring game. Even if they had scored it would have still be a low scorer
