The truth is Newcastle didn't start well last season or this season and it is more likely they won't win 10 Premier league games in a row again this time. Essentially I'm saying the people comparing this season with last might as well be comparing apples with pears anyway.
I think last season is evidence that we can climb up significantly on where we are now. If we do that it can happen in a variety of ways
Sure, but you don't need last season to be able to to say anything can happen. It doesn't carry any extra weight, because we're not following a repeating pattern. It's possible Newcastle come 4th, 12th or DPP can say 1st. Last season we didn't play CL football, so why not look at the season before, when they didn't make Europe? There's just no point looking at either season. It's about now and the next game. All people can prove like you say is that anything can happen anyway, positive or negative, so they're just wasting time in reaching that conclusion, or they're trying to conclude something more.
