I do have my negatives about the game.

The seagulls darting across the screen when watching on your phone... very confusing after a couple of wet ones.

The commentators saying 'blues' over and over drove me potty!

COYS

Have watched the highlights and I still think that was a hell of a save from Baz. He also managed to deflect the ball out for a corner which made it better. Back to back games where he's made great saves from deflected shots as well.

Catching up …

Great entertainment, we do struggle to maintain our performance later in games, but determined defending is saving us

We are losing concentration and giving the opposition too much space just outside the box, we deserted the LB area after Robinson came on and Jander went off

Our starting 11 is so good now

Hopefully bench improves soon with Charles and Jelert back

Leo gets kicked a lot, but thankfully seems to survive that every game

Baz had a good game, one amazing save, no dramas, nothing he could do about the goal, more an issue with 2 attacking players trying to defend against Demari Gray and letting him come inside

Flynn looked much better today. Recent interview he said he’s been struggling with energy level due to Stomach issues. Maybe that’s behind him now?

The sound in the ground has got to be some sort of acoustic issue.

I sit in Kingsland on the chapel side of the centre line (not in the rubbery seats..), row BB and I can hear the Northam fans pretty well when they are singing and they are always louder then the away corner from where I sit.

So weird how people's experience is so different around the ground.

I sit in Kingsland North and the Northam were loud and clear and constant, wiith several new chants, the Kingsland North came up with a few chants of their own! I heard the brum crew once, just after they scored.

As others have stated, the confidence and belief that Tonda has given to pretty much the whole squad is absolutely incredible. It doesn't seem real how the same bunch of players have changed mentality so quickly. No disrespect to Will Still but he clearly wasn't the man for us. Whatever happens now, we know the squad has the capability.

With our form and the fixtures being clustered together for Christmas, it could turn out to be a very fun time to be a Saints fan!

It was a decent save imo but no more than that. Surely it's one you expect your keeper to make?

He can't be blamed for their goal but I did notice something about it which I think demonstrates why he struggles quite a lot and why so many goals he concedes look 'unsaveable'.

His positioning for it is dreadful and he's far too close to his near post when any shot is only going in one place. Starting position is everything for a keeper and if you're in the wrong place you're giving yourself very little chance of saving a decent effort with pace.

Again for clarity, I'm not saying it was a factor here as I don't believe he'd have saved it regardless, but I think this is why he often gets nowhere near shots and some people assume that he had no chance when it's his positioning that's let him down.

Overall I thought he had a good game yesterday for what it's worth.

They were loud pretty early on but were quiet after 2-0 until their goal. Pretty poor overall I'd say.

When in full voice though keep right on is a belting anthem imo.

He could have been a couple of yards to his left but I don't think his positioning is that bad. He does need to see the ball for a start.

A couple of yards to his left could have made a big difference if the shot had less pace on it though?

I've said all along that I think his poor positioning is the biggest factor in his shot stopping not being great. Hopefully something the coaching team are working on.

Not something I want to dwell on but something I found interesting and thought others might too.

And god forbid that any keeper should be beaten on the near post! The defenders letting him come inside were more the problem, alternatively maybe it was just a very good goal?

Guessing you didn't actually read what I said? Clearly stated it wasn't a factor for this goal and it couldn't be blamed on him.

You might think he's better than Niemi but that's not what I was saying.

Regarding his save, I think the impressive part was getting the ball out of harms way rather than just keeping it out.

Of course I read what you said, but I wasn’t replying to you, because you didn’t blame him for the goal, others have

Apologies mate, I haven't seen anyone blame him for it so assumed it was directed at me. Daft to blame him for it tbh.

My bad, I'll retract the childish Niemi comment <cheers>
