We're back to the seaside on the sunny South Coast of England in Bournemouth...

We'll start with a seasonal classic...

I've always loved this epic song...

The genius that is Robert Fripp...

Andy Summers has such great tone on guitar...

We haven't finished Boston yet. What about the jazz scene of early fifties with Serge Chaloff, Charlie Mariano and Dick Twardzik. Always found Twardzik to be a fascinating pianist and can understand why his mysterious reputation has endured even though he was in his early twenties when he died from an overdose. Twardzik still remains an esoteric player and is better known for his work with Chet Baker but I like his trio which sounds like eccentric Bud Powell. I think Chaloff had similar issues with narcotics.

I was referring to Greg Lake and Robert Fripp coming from Wimborne, not Bournemouth as stated.

    No problem.

Never knew they came from Wimborne.

I have been fascinated of late by the contemporary of Mozart ,Musio Clementi, who lived on thr Staoleton House estate near Blandford Forum.

I am finding this city by city assessment of bands and musicians to be fascinating.

So Spotify wrapped came out on Wednesday! Not sure if there was any discussion of it, as I was on holiday and didn't check this forum much (though I don't think I saw anything).

    So my total listening time:

    104,886 minutes (rookie numbers, I know)#

    My top artists:

    1: The Soundds
    2: Taylor Swift
    3: Smith & Thell
    4: Dagny
    5 Coldplay

My top songs and for your enjoyment and to spread some good music, here are my top 5 songs:

A sweet song from the soundtrack of Doki Doki Literature Club, actually plays in the end credits but I like it, and it poses the question we all ask, how can I write love into reality?

I've posted The Sounds before, but while I've known and liked them for a while, I only discovered this song this year. I like the energy in the song, and also the banjos. Who doesn't like banjos?

From the game Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, also known as Swann's theme. I feel like it fits her character well, her love of nature and exploration while also kind of encapsulating the uncertainty and her fear of like being alone I guess.

The final song in Bojack Horseman, which plays as Bojack and Diane share a moment on the roof of a house, it's a nice, kinda bittersweet song I feel for a bittersweet moment

Spoilers: As it's pretty clear that scene is the last time Bojack and Diane will see each other, though there's some hope for the future of Bojack after everything.

I've posted this song before here, but I think it's beautiful even if I have no idea what she's singing about (even looking up the translation didn't help much). It feels melancholic, and God knows I've listened to a lot of melancholic music this year (see the above song).

If anyone else did their Spotify wrapped, why not post yours!

    Jeez you two, everyone's a critic!...<laugh>

Chilcs, I knew that Robert Fripp was from Wimborne but the four I chose are from the South East Dorset Conurbation and presumably cut their teeth in the pubs and clubs of Bournemouth (Fripp's first band was formed there).
I have to use poetic licence as i'm not going to be able to post every little parish because i'd be posting until doomsday!

Ian, these are my personal picks and everyone is welcome to post their own from any particular city.

My dear old Grandad's favourites (along with James Last and German marching bands!), we used to always beg him to play the Wurzels and have some of his homemade beer with lemonade which he called a shandoosh! on holidays to Devon, happy days!.
He was born and raised in Chilcompton btw.

My Dad called him Lar and we knew him as Purp.
My Dad used to joke that he should've been a Kraut with his love of German music!.

Doh! you said PM, ah well. (sent you one now)
