Just a quick message outlining the current position here since I was reinstated as moderator. I've mentioned this in the 'Moderator' thread, but everyone may not have read it there. RULES Basically, there aren't any now. Any member, please feel free to start a thread or join a discussion about any subject you wish. The only thing I would ask of members is please let's respect each other as people. We can argue any topic, even emotive or controversial ones, without 'playing the man' (getting personal). Of course this is primarily a community of Charlton fans, so CAFC, football and other sports are always going to be at the heart of things. But no other subject, political or otherwise, is off limits (or restricted to single threads) anymore. Please feel free to comment on this here, but bear in mind this thread is only really an announcement. I'll leave it up until Christmas maybe, when I can be fairly sure that everyone, even occasional posters and visitors, have read it. Then I'll take it down. Regards, Lardy
Just making the present position clear. We've had several changes of approach since the Summer of 2024. Easy not to be sure what might or might not be regarded as OK. Now I hope there'll be no need for anyone to wonder if what they'd like to say is going to cause an issue. Everything is open for debate, if folks want to discuss it. As ever of course, anyone is free to pass by any threads on subjects that don't interest them.
So just to summarise:- Forum Rules - there are none ! Just a bit of respect and civility (apart when dealing with Elfs of course)
Reminds me of when my eldest started at St Olaves... he asked what the headmaster meant when he told the new boys 'We don't have a list of school rules, but if you break them you will be in trouble! '
