This is the latest news I've seen. Fitness tests will decide on the participation or otherwise of Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote and Mike Williamson. The latter came through 45 minutes of Tuesday's reserve fixture against Bolton unscathed but inevitably looked off the pace. Steven Taylor, Danny Guthrie and Sylvain Marveaux are confirmed absentees through injury, while Dan Gosling serves the first of a three match suspension.
I dont like Perch but think Williamson will be rusty with just 45 minutes in reserves under his belt. Just hoping Collo comes through.
Come on now Toon, think your being a tad rough on Perch, give the lad a last chance today, I'm sure he'll come good!.................... please log in to view this image
we needs the points more than the toon...please.....give speedo a good send off....forget the minute silence make loads of noise with your clapping and singing his name.. wish i was there as the toon army and the jack army combine together to show the world how we appreciate a fine man and gentleman of the football ....
Decent first half, Ba looks dangerous but the Swans have looked alright so far, even if they haven't done much in the way of attacking.
OMG ... What a great first half for both teams. Newcastle are powering forward and Obertan is just being brilliant with the ball causing us all sorts of chaos and putting in terrific crosses (if only our lot could cross like that). We are defending solidly in the face of a great forward line and tremendous pressure. If could just show better quality on the break we might be able to nick this though. Can Newcastle keep up this pace through the rest of the game.
I think we've been absolutely dominating the game but the Swansea defence has been superb and just locked us out. Possession: Newcastle 60% Swansea 40% On target: Newcastle 3 Swansea 0 Off target: Newcastle 6 Swansea 1 Corners: Newcastle 5 Swansea 0 How we haven't scored yet is beyond me.
****e first half by the swans! Taylor having a mare along with sinclair, routledge, gower, caulker and jazz , if rodgers dont sort them out at half time then we are on for a hammering, Newcastle are trying but thankfully are not quite there in front of goal so far. Very dissapointed by our play, poor passing in the final 3rd and taylor absolutly refusing to play the ball square instead he passes it back 35m, and puts the centre halfs under pressure, we know newcastle are gonna press us,the boys have to have the bollocks to be brave not wuss out like taylor and others are doing !!
very lucky to go in all square, but here's hoping for a better second half, gower off please, agustien on. and i'd like to see dyer have a run at their defence too
