Keep hearing about plenty of good players but this isn’t backed up by performances. Who are these good players that multiple managers seem to be misusing?

This squad man for man is bang average. 8th-12th would be the right finish imo.

Something I can’t stand about Vicario

when he ****s up he starts to shout at the players around him instead of owning that ****

Someone get him a red nose and some clown shoes

    ****in clown

i made it out. Still lost as to what to do. Could have left after 10 minutes tonight, is the Vicario shocker down to Frank, probably not but we’ll likely lose to Newcastle and then can we beat Brentford?

What are we? If we’re going back to the 90s finishing between 7th and 15th then let us know and we can decide that 80/90 for a cat A isn’t worth it (that’s cat a tickets by the way, cat a in the eyes of the law is more than worth it.

    Agreed.

I've got no idea what some fans are seeing when they look at our squad.

We took the group that finished 17th last season, made it weaker over the summer and somehow people are expecting a top 6 finish?

    Pull the other one.

This is a pretty good summary of last night. I don't agree with it all and particularly think it's still too early to write off Frank, but the bold bits I totally concur with.

    "John Ellis match report

    Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Fulham

    The pre-match vibe was basically…

Today was surely to be the day Spurs finally recorded a Premier League home win ...

Within six minutes of kick off Spurs were 2-0 down and had a mountain to climb which ultimately proved insurmountable.

Every Fulham attack threatened a goal.

Silva had done his homework and attacked down Spurs right where Porro was again found wanting.

Only the woodwork and an incredible last ditch tackle from Van de Ven had kept Spurs in the game.

By half time, Spurs were fortunate not to be 4-0 down. At the other end Spurs had created zilch, zip, zero, nada, absolutely nothing again.

Two lame efforts from outside the box which went well wide of the target were all Spurs had mustered.

This was against a team which had lost five of their last away six games and scraped a draw with a 96th minute penalty.

The only plan they seem to have is to pass the ball around at the back and unless they concede possession, get the ball forward down the wings to cross and hopefully get a set piece opportunity from a corner or throw in.

    The performances are simply unacceptable

Spurs have now gone six homes at home without a win and have recorded just three home wins this calendar year.

Tonight Vicario cost his team yet again with his poor footwork in giving away a comical second goal. He makes some wonderful shot stopping saves but his overall game just isn’t good enough for a team wanting to compete at the top end of the table.

Tonight there was a crescendo of boos aimed at Vicario which can’t have helped him or the team.

The home fans frustration is understandable. They pay top prices to be continually served up with second rate performances.

They have to endure the chants and banter of opposition fans including of late Arsenal and Chelsea when the players didn’t turn up in either game.

It has gone on for too long. They have had enough.

The number of empty seats is growing by the game with the unsociable kick off time also being a contributory factor tonight.

Spurs were brighter in the second half. Muani headed wide and also back heeled just wide of the post.

During Spurs best spell of the match Kudus halved the deficit and a comeback seemed a possibility.

Frank had three players on the touchline waiting to come on as substitutes.

Instead of keeping the momentum, he made three substitutions. Surely it would have been worthwhile holding off from making wholesale changes for a little while.

It seems Frank can’t help but tinker.
He certainly doesn’t have any clue as to what his best line up is.

One win, one draw and five defeats in the last seven games is a poor return.

20 competitive games into Frank’s reign and the honeymoon period is well and truly over.

Let’s hope Spurs can turnaround their form at Newcastle on Tuesday.

Whilst I don't want Frank to go (and for us to start the process again) and I have no idea who would want to replace him, 2 more defeats this week at Newcastle (which is a formality) and then at home to his previous team Brentford would leave him skating on very thin ice, I have seen no real improvement on Ange's shambles from last season, there is every chance that we will finish 2025 with just 3 home premier league wins and Ange got 2 of those and 1 Thomas just one against a newly promoted side on day 1. That is unacceptable by anyones standards.

I never like calling for manager renewal after every dodgy patch, but after observing the past few games is he really the right man to lead us out of this mess? I am not so sure he is any better than Ange was at the moment in all honesty.

That first half was as bad as anything I've seen this season, the lack of creativity and execution in play was off the scale. It was almost like they had lost the ability to make a simple pass of a few yards!

There was a bit right at the end of the match where Danso was playing little triangles with Porro on the right and it was just calling out for the play to be switched, but it didn't happen and and after a simple press jt ended up as a Fulham throw in. <laugh> Confidence on the pitch is shot to pieces I'm afraid.

Will the return of those "big players" help?

Possibly, but my concern is they never come back the same after returning from a major injury like that, and it'll be way too late to influence the season anyway.

Unfortunately the club is in a right old mess at the moment and I genuinely fear for Tuesday night. I just hope there is some pride left to pull off a miracle but i have huge doubts over that....

Ahhh the joys of supporting this club, time to get the all Christmas decorations up I think to try and erase the day from my memory. <laugh> <cracker>

I’ve heard we’re baulking at the fee, and have instead turned our attention to French winger N’il Points.

    perfectly summed up for me.
The bit about using the wingers for crosses as our only attacking strategy is what hits home for me. It’s not working, and I’m not keen on that being our predominant style, even with better players that can execute it. Boring as.

36 years young today but thankfully didn’t have to watch last night’s **** show as was out with mates for a brilliant night so birthday hasn’t been ruined.

Saw a few highlights though… comical.

I’ve never really liked the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as it is, too modern and extremely soulless for me but it really is becoming the new Boodison, fan patience is at an all time low and they can’t be blamed either given the costs involved only to be let down most weeks

Usually I’m quite opinionated (not that any of you have noticed <laugh>) on how to fix issues but I think for the first time in a long while I’ve got little to suggest. I would say a £400m January window would solve a lot but we’d probably only end up with more Richarlison’s, Solanke’s and Simons’. Everyone at the club is underperforming. From players to coaches to medical staff to manager to hierarchy. When it’s that bad, it’s very hard to suggest just what can actually be done to improve.

Interestingly Frank basically admitted in his post match comments that those subs killed our momentum and were made at the wrong time.

It's highly concerning to hear. This is elementary stuff that even a Sunday league manager doesn't do. You pull a goal back during a good spell, don't tinker. Wait ten minutes and if nothing has changed, then you make the subs.

Why would you expect an improvement on Ange's shambles if the team is worse?

The fact at least two podcasts are already using the old GamerGater trick of finding the one frame where Frank looks unflattering of every press conference is not a good sign

...that at least two of our podcasts are run by closet Faragists

    Happy birthday Dier Hard!

Thomas Frank talking about the boos during the game:

“They can’t be true Tottenham fans…”

Comments like this is simply going to alienate some of the fans.

    It won't alienate real fans.
All clubs have the intolerable win now or throw the toys out of the pram section. They are not fans, they are just narcissists and dopamine junkies.
Frank is a very good manager IMO and he has already shown signs that he can actually turn Spurs into a serious club.
However, I fully expect Spurs to shoot themselves in the foot and sack him before he has had the chance to build something.
When Arteta took over Arsenal I said it would take 5-10 years to fix the mess we were in. Frank needs around 5 years. As long as he is showing progress as he builds, then Spurs would be fools to get rid of him.

Stupid thing to say and will not help his cause at all. I'm not for booing your own team, but I'm also not one paying out a small fortune every week to be taken for a mug.

He needs to get the fans onside and quick!

Maybe our result on Tuesday at Newcastle will get the fans onside again?
