Cyc, I think Zaynar is a very underrated horse on this forum. Hopefully yesterday has at least put some questions in some peoples mind because his performance when running 3rd in the Champ Hurdle after a)being beaten by Quewetwo in his prep at Kelso and b) running at the front because he clearly wanted further was both gutsy and classy. Yesterday's performance is also best described by those two words :D

Toon: Good day to you! It was good to see Zaynar run so well; many of us knew full well he has it in him to perform at a high level, but unfortunately he has often misfired. Took one, or maybe two chances, which he might not have got away with at Cheltenham. But all-in-all an impressive performance on a quite tricky NH track?

hello swanny <ok> I completely agree to be fair. I think as well with zaynar great things were expected from too early on and I think he suffered because he wasn't the superstar he perhaps threatend to be. Before losing at Kelso he was 5/1 fav for the Champ Hurdle which was a bit ridiculous. For me it wasn't that he won yesterday, there was nothing in the race that should have been troubling him assuming he can reach close to the same heights over fences that he did over hurldes. But the way he won, making all before going away at the end was most impressive in what we all thought was an open looking grade 2 (and the betting showed that two with, I believe, co-favs). He'll get found out at the very top level but there's no disgrace in that. Hopefully he's back on track now because he should be (and now will be) running higher than 142. What do people think his best trip is?

Toon: Fine comment! Well, maybe 2m4f will be his ultimate distance. Flat tracks too might suit him better, although none too sure about that. That downhill fence (3rd fence out?) at Cheltenham is the one that finds so many of them out, fences and hurdles?

Just in case MPC and/or Cats can't get on, I will take substitutions on a first come first save basis. Failing that I will take from the Leagues comp starting with the earliest time stamp.

Cheers Nass. Just select 5 horses in Cyc's Leagues Comp (each comp is for one day - all newcomers go into L3) and I'll pick up your entries from there if needed.

Can't believe Cats is a no-show and I'm now playing Nass. No doubt he'll floor me with a 43-rated handicap winner at 28-1 from Lingfield <laugh>

On all known form Hell's Bay should win here BUT I'm worried about the absence and couldn't be backing him at those odds. Watching brief

    Aerial at Ascot <ok>

Hoping Breathing op has improved him, as his 5th in the PP Gold Cup suggested.
