Thing i like with the manager is that he will just make the changes at HT, zero ****s given as to who is being hauled off.
Lots dont and wait til 60+ and by then the game may have gone.

AWOOGA
Hmmn. Tbf, we were that bad 1st half that pretty much any manager would have made changes at HT!! Remarkable turnaround, how it went from being like men against boys to us bossing it

Just watched the game back and what a bizarre performance from the Stoke fans.

After reading their forum I thought I must have missed numerous times when the referee went gone against them.

Barely anything to see. Our first goal v’s the penalty not given equals each other out.

After that, they went mental when Crooks bought a cheap free kick - although it was a free kick. Coyle also went down easy after a nudge in the back, but he did get a nudge and they are always given. Egan also got a toe in and their man went down.

The boos that rang around the stadium were embarrassing. We would have appealed as a crowd for all of these decisions. Probably even gone as far as a few of us waving our arms about - but the extent to which the Stoke fans thought they were hard done by is dilusional!

'I'm fuming at what we did in the second half' - Stoke reaction
Stoke manager Mark Robins told BBC Radio Stoke:

"It was a game of two halves. We gave them the impetus, we gave them their goal, although it was offside. I've got to say it's offside and you can't miss that.

"But they've missed that and it's ended up in the back of our net. And then time after time, we were getting in really good areas and not completing the pass, not finding the man coming onto it, not finding the final pass.

"Then for the final goal, we've inexplicably given the ball away in the middle of the pitch and they've broken against us. They were better in the second half, but we allowed that to happen and that's a real frustration.

"At the end, I've spoken to the referee, and one of their players has incited the crowd and we've ended up in a situation where there are players confronting each other. We'll get charged with failing to control our players or whatever it is and it's an absolute joke.

"I'm fuming at what we did in the second half and I'm fuming at what happened at the end."

Not sure. See it countless times managers give the players 10/15 mins to turn it around.

Just shows though, once we have our better players back we will be a handful for most teams. Just hope we can maintain full fitness for most of the season..

Shades of the Norwich game, poor first half, the gaffer changes it, and a different 2nd half.

Whenever Crooks gets to play a bit deeper, we seem to get control of the midfield, whereas in the first half we were overrun.

The back 4 on the whole played well, Ajayi/Egan look a good pairing.

The changes at HT made a big difference, great to have Belloumi and Lundstam back. Gelhardt is just unstoppable at present.

Great 3 points, stopped the losing run, players injured coming back, onto Boro.

I thought crooks played higher in the 10 when Lunny came on?

Lundstrams ability to break up attacks and spray a pass has been sorely missed.

And everyone else was? He can’t make 10 subs can he?

Perhaps he knew the others could improve on the first half and ndala is a lost cause. Not sure why you're getting so wound up, he's not our player. He's a 19 year old kid not up to playing in a top half championship team. No shame in that at this stage of his career.

I find it odd you think he’s ****e and feel its fine to make snide comments about a young lad who always seems to give his all, and clearly has something about him as he showed before his injury.

Snide comments? Grow up. He hasn't showed anything beyond a few step overs and a couple of goals from the hoaline goal line. He's offered no more than lokilo did.

We are real close to being a very good side. In hindsight we abused the privilege of having Rushworth, Coventry are proving that. Our keeper is a great little shot stopper but emphasise the word little. Promoted sides don't carry small keepers.
Coyle is sporadically excellent, and mostly dependable but he isn't a top right back at this level. We don't own Lundstrum and Scrabble and we have no real back up for Oli.

When we are able to purchase players we have the chance to become a force by rectifying these things. But, knowing our club we will sell half the squad and have another reset.

Snide.

Maybe you should’ve picked another random team out of a hat if you don’t like loan players.

I have a bit more faith that now that we have a few puzzle pieces in place we just need to turn a few loans into permanents and build on what we have. Mcburnie destan and Joseph plus burstow to potentially come back is a good starting point for strikers for instance, where if we sold Joseph or burstow that could be reinvested elsewhere in the squad without impacting us too much.
