NICKLAS BENDTNER has issued an extensive apology to the people of Denmark, Sunderland fans and his family in the aftermath of his recent off the field behaviour.

The Danish international was arrested after an alleged wrecking spree in Newcastle city centre following a night out, and Bendtner also caused havoc in a pizza shop when he demanded that revellers should pay for his food after two of his credit cards were rejected last week.

The incident caused outrage in his native Denmark and his actions have not impressed the Danish FA who are set to hold a meeting with the striker over his conduct.

Bendtner – who also caught on camera smirking during a minute’s silence for Gary Speed at a recent game at Wolves – is set to appear in court in February over an incident which involved Lee Cattermole that resulted in several cars being damaged.

And his statement has also revealed there was a THIRD unnamed Sunderland player involved.

His first admission was regarding the pizza shop incident, Bendtner said: “In connection with a birthday celebration with my girlfriend I was part of a incident at a pizzeria downtown Copenhagen where my creditcard got rejected. I bet you all know the feeling but in this case it was also described in the media.”

And expanding on the latest revelations in Newcastle’s Stowell Street, Bendtner said: “The latest incident involves two of my team mates and I who were picked up by polite and friendly English policemen this morning as CCTV footage allegedly shows us in the process of damaging parked cars after a wet night out on the town.”

“This case now has to make it's way through the British system of justice and a verdict is expected by February next year.

“In connection with all these incidents I have to make one thing very, very clear.

“I am extremely sorry for all of this. I apologise sincerely that I have allowed myself to get involved in things that are interpreted in such dramatic fashion.

“I fully assume responsibility for not distancing me from these incidents before they got out of hand.

“The error is mine alone and I am sorry that I have let so many people down.

“Basically I am a normal guy with an extraordinary job.”

“I tend to forget this at times but deep down I know these things.

“And it does not serve as an excuse for me letting myself getting caught up in this.

“My family, my son, my precious girlfriend and football are the most important things in my life.

“ And this is what I will have to focus on 100%

”My primary objective right now is to get rid of my injury and get back into full fitness for Sunderland and Denmark.

“I hope you will understand that I now promise myself to concentrate fully on football and only football.

“My focus has to be here - and not anywhere else.”

”It means that I in the upcoming time won't be involved in extra curricular activities - like too many parties or interviews about my persona. Trust takes time to build - and I now can see how quickly it dissappears.

”I admit my sense of judgement have been less than perfect lately.

“Going forward I will do all I can do in order to honour the trust that you, my fans, my friends and my lovely family show me every single day.

“Nothing short of the best is good enough for you and it is something I haven't produced for you lately.”

Bendtner signed off his statement by saying: “See you on the pitch, warm greetings”

    What a twat.

Well you would not expect me to go with the majority, I know you cn say its a manufactured statement but I found it an impressive one. I have never damaged cars but I have done a thing or two that I regret, we all have.

For me I will now back MON and if he gets a second chance thats fine by me. I will judge him on his performance not his night out.

He's a young lad, we've all done things we regret, he's apologised. Let's see how he performs on the pitch before we persecute him.

Who the **** hasn't done anything stupid especially after a few sherberts and if the lad is big enough to say sorry I've been a prick and let everybody down then fine. My only problem with Bendy is he hasn't put the effort in but how many did towards the end of Bruce's reign if MON gets a rocket up his arse and he plays like he does for his country then fair enough.

sorry, but i actually haven't gone and vandalised a load of cars when pished, just because i think i can get away with it. its not fine, and he will in no way bear the same consequences that the man on the street (i.e. me, you, and everyone else who actually pays the thick ****'s salary), because he will now get access to the best legal team and will most probably have to pay a fine and damages that would financially ruin the likes of me and you, but to him is the equivalent of a parking ticket.

also, if i ****ed about like this i'd be terrified of losing my job, but even if o'neill tells him and the other two to do one (which he won't), they would have other clubs falling over themselves to sign them up. they face no real consequences, and bear no responsibility for their actions.

incidentally, would it be "fine" if it was your car they trashed?

It sounds as though the third player has been interviewed but discharged, because the police statement said "two men" were released on bail. However, the fact that he says a verdict is due in February suggests that he's guilty and knows he will be charged. i think I agree with Syd and MakemO'Neill on this. We all did some daft things when 23-ish and his apology did say “I fully assume responsibility for not distancing me from these incidents before they got out of hand." If he's just learned to stand back a bit, and not get involved, it'll solve a lot of his problem.

Get on the field and deliver the goods, Nic - providing MON doesn't ship you out. I'd forgive a bit of stupidity for a couple of goals right now. We need those more than we need this.

I agree with a lot of what Billy Smart says but right now we have to many grey areas, how much damage, who did what and when. Aslo how many cars will have been vandalised over the weekend, a down side of being a premier football is everyone knows when you step out of line.

The final bit is very selfish, what if the third player was Sess, do we kick Titus, Bendy, Catts and Sess out, possibly go down but know we did the right thing.

If it was my car and these wealthy young men gave me a big back hander, who knows what I would think.

If anyone of us had our cars damaged outside our homes by drunken working class lads I would want to rip their effin heads off.
Incidentally I have appeared in court cos some w*nker booted my car and damaged it whilst I was sitting in it. I hit the b*stard with the frying pan steering wheel lock security device knocking him out before he hit the ground and I got prosecuted. Not proud of myself but I would do it again in the same circumstances.
Back to bendtner send the tw*t packing.

Actually my car has been damaged and the lad paid for the repair and apologized and to me that was the end of it. If someone is big enough to apologize and cover the cost of repair then that should be it but hey I may be more forgiving than most.

Whether you accept it or not he has apologised. Now where is Mr Cattermole's apology? Did I miss it somewhere?
