Andronikou told Guardian yesterday that although Pompey players will get paid in December, it's by no means certain they will be paid in January. Also says that they have had more enquiries about buying Portsmouth now as they are now 'clean'. That means they have off-loaded their debts.
The FL couldn't wait to take action against us 4 years ago! Why not PFC who are in a far worse state!
This is crap news for Pompey. But perhaps Dave Kitson will put in a transfer request. There's always a bright side.
Love to know who these interested parties are. Suppose now the debt has been 'sorted' (though no one has been paid!) they are a better proposition, although all they really own is a Championship share. You have to wonder what kind of investors they are, as we struggled to get anyone to buy Saints (until the sainted Markus came along) and we actually owned property.
Perhaps Andronikou will want them to lose to avoid win bonuses...oh, doesn't matter, they won't get paid next month anyway!
Ah, now I understand why the game starts at 1pm. That pile of 50p pieces for the electric floodlights is getting perilously small!
You are right Fran, god alone knows why Leibherr bought you lot. Just the sight of those silly stripey shirts would be enough to turn off most people
The truth is no, we are not enjoying your misfortunes, having been there and done it, we have a good idea about what you are going through, but you are the "enemy" so to speak so you should not expect us to actually like you! However, the the fact that you still exist means that we can still trade banter at your expense, long may that continue, I hate the effect it has on true fans, the players and the staff, they are being punished, the perpetrators mostly get off unscathed, although Antonov may be in for a rough time, I am convinced his intentions may have been good, but it seems others thought differently. On Sunday I will have no qualms about what happens, if we get a result I will be over the moon, if not I will be prepared to accept that you have the bragging rights and just hope that you are still around for us to exact revenge at St. Marys.
In that case, I doubt whether even God alone, would have a clue as to who would want to buy Pompey. There is literally nothing that can be considered a positive asset. Please do think of something..!
Actually, it is slightly amusing but no, on the whole I'm not. I don't like to see any football club in trouble [apart from the odd few that need to be knocked down a peg or two, and I think we know who they might be], and especially you pepys down the road. I could say the same about Bournemouth too. I want to see a strong united south coast force of teams. We rivals can argue amongst ourselves, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that we should all be looking to do better than the rest of the heartlands of football.
Only because at this stage nothing has happened. You know what the reaction was from most of us, the last time it was looking bleak.
I do enjoy it, but its starting to get a bit old now. You can do what ever you like with next to no punishment.
If you're found in contravention of the rules those running the club should be punished, but, in answer to your orignal question, No, I do not take delight in your situation. Like any Saints fan, I will cheer on the team playing against you, just as you would cheer on the team playing against the Saints. Friendly rivalry and banter gives both our teams a little spice. However, whilst I want to see you lose on the football pitch (especially tomorrow), I do not wish to see you lose in the board-room. Football should be about what happens on the turf, not about the antics of crooks and con-men.
