Aye a difficult one. We need to be robust but with some humanity.

Certainly there should be no criticism of our fantastic RNLI from ***ash and his cronies

You'd imagine there might be the slightest glimmer of praise from those who want the boats stopped ...

    ... there'll be none.

Without the famous "Brexit" prospective asylum seekers could have their cases looked at in France and be told yes or no. Now they have to be on British soil before claims can be looked at. Hence Farage's Brexit Boats. <doh>

Thats because its the government that are doing it, they send the boats and the life jackets back to France why would they do that and not destroy them like we are entitle to. there are Paras in France now digging the dinghys up from where they have been burried and smashing the outboards and slashing the Dinghys, so much so Labour has had to change tact, as the british people are turning against them

It is encouraging, but that is all. Apparently it is too windy today to start!

Sarcasm and doubt aside, we have been here before, as recently as this summer. Slashing boats before they could take off. It soon stopped and got caught up in govt red tape.

    I hope this is better.

But that's the problem mate, as a civilised country we can't just harpoon migrant boats ...

... 'maritime law', which trumps ours and that of France, means our hands are tied to a degree, I know that from personal experience.

"French and international maritime law impose a mandatory duty to render assistance to any person in peril at sea. This is a long-standing tradition enshrined in several international conventions and is a matter of both civil and criminal law in France."

In France there's also a very important law that means it's a criminal offence to fail to assist someone in peril ...

... the UK often refers to it as the Princess Diana law.

"France investigated photographers for failing to assist Princess Diana after the 1997 crash, a violation of the French "Good Samaritan" law requiring people to help those in peril. Seven photographers were initially investigated for involuntary homicide and failing to assist."

Imbeciles, like Farage, either don't understand the law, or believe they're above it ... they aren't.

Yet Starmer has publicly apologised to Farage on camera for calling him racist. Even Sunderland Borough of Hetton kicked Labour out last night and voted Reform in

Yet if they opened their eyes they would find real news not the BBC who actually doctored a Trump video and had to publically apologise to him.

Makes a lot of sense. The problem has never been the boats. It has been those in France with the option to use a boat. Same for other small stretches of water.

I find it interesting that Brexit curtailed lorries as a way for illegal immigrants because of the increased border checks. I suspect boat crossings increased significantly as a result.

Politicians of all parties have never grasped the nettle. Starmers pledge to smash the gangs was as close as any have come to showing a plausible answer, but it requires a real will across multiple countries to do that.

Which doesn’t come from hating the EU. That was my point about cooperation. I’m no fan of Starmer but his relationship with the EU has seen some change. It’s still an issue, of course it is, but there have been positive movements and things like this change over time.

I agree. He is making inroads and it is good to see. I find Starmer frustrating on many levels. He does seem a man who can foster trust and relationships with a variety of other leaders however.

I could write a book about the stupity they have said down here.

But I do repeat. If Labour do their job Reform melt away into irrelevance.
