That was me. Still think it’s true. He didn’t gave a great game but we went downhill when the subs came on.
No particular standouts from last night, so a very difficult one; 1. Ajayi - pretty steady, nowt outstanding 2. Gyabi - some decent effort put in 3. Slater - had a few moments Well down on previous performance levels, but given how short we are on quality with the lads out at present we can't expect them to perform miracles.
Hard choice, Ajayi?, Giles, Slater and Geldhardt had their little moments, game went down hill after the excellent minutes applause for Paddy and Don then the Ndala effort. Important to see at least one injury return, Belloumi. A nod to the Tractor Boys, impressive support on a cold Tuesday night up here.
Everyone was poor second half - so based on the first half alone: Ajayi - easily our best player Slater - tried to get us going through the middle Gyabi - Some decent pressing alongside Ndala We seemed a bit leggy 2nd half and once they scored it was game over. Their keeper doesn't need a clean pair of gloves for the weekend
To be fair, Greaves is excellent in the air, on the other hand, Destan won his first two headers against him. I'm not sure I can remember ever seeing Joseph win a header from a punt upfield.
And when Joff beat him in the air, he went down as if poleaxed and feigning injury . He made an amazing recovery once Joff had been booked, though,
Exactly, and shows how weak Joseph was against him. All the Ipswich team were well versed in throwing themselves to the floor with a couple of roll overs after every challenge.. Point though, Joseph wasn't strong enough against Greavesy. We all know how many penalties and free kicks Greavesy gave away when he played for us and how certain centre forwards bullied him. Ours last night gave him an easy ride. Destan should have started up front with Geldhart feeding off him.
