No idea how these guys managed to hold it together to commentate on a vlog whilst watching that first half but fair play to them. They seemed to find Cam Bragg’s performance particularly praiseworthy which bodes well. First of the new generation to break through in the Tonda era?
Do think it’s interesting that Williams and Bragg have now played as CMs from the youth team, when Sesay looked like he was the first in line for a break through as he was involved in pre season Is Sesay injured or maybe Tonda prefers other players. He’s been particularly complimentary of Bragg I think
Others who follow the youth more closely can probably answer this better than me. I think Sesay plays in a different position for the U21s this season, a more attacking role. Not sure what position he played last season tbf, maybe he only played CM with the first team in pre-season as we had virtually no fit players there at the time. I’m assuming the club don’t see him as a CM anymore except in emergencies.
Beautiful bit of Partridge-esque commentary here. I think it might be Jo Tessum? Watch from 2:56, so funny. (mumbles something) ...car!". https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/video/extended-highlights-charlton-1-5-saints
His goal was a beauty and one that many players would have missed. Sold the keeper brilliantly and made it look so casual.
That goal is probably my favourite of the season so far. Extremely cool finish from Caspar. Dusan Armstrong with an absolute peach of an assist. And, right at the start, a lovely ball from THB to break the lines. It was the same THB-Arma combo for the third goal against Sheff Wed. As dodgy as Taylor can be defending, his passing is a real asset.
