I think that Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento make us a much better team. We can attack down both wings. Could have scored 5 today.

Yeah and if Thiaw and Botman were paired at CB with Tino and Hall at full-backs, then we'd look more solid too.

To be fair, Schar was unreal last night.

Burn had better not get back in the side

Schar is a funny one because he does have that long ball that gives the other team something to think about, but nobody seems to notice the ones that don't find the target and get us in bother.

    He made some
Big blocks and tackles yesterday. But also I think they should have had a penalty.

But Schar over Burn for me.

Hall and Tino give us balance.

Thiaw in the sixth minute. Pure class.

    Botman>Schar>Burn

Burn not being available was key imo, otherwise we'd still have had him left back.

We saw the game out really well at 2-1 like, wasn't pretty but can't remember them having another chance.

Elanga was just jogging about when he game on though, what's going on with him.

Yeah, that one time he had a real chance to break away. I was totally willing him on, in the hope that sealing the game off might also lift his confidence and turn things around for him.

But he just ran into the first City defender and gave the ball away.

Murphy is still our best RW player by miles. Elanga looks the 16 million player Man United sold.

He looks like he’s won the lottery. Maybe he’s just not suited for our style of play. He’s rapid but I’ve not seen anything good in any of his games yet.

He's basically a sprinter that was utilised in an ultra counter attacking system, but it looks at this point like he's not capable of playing a more advanced game.

Howe and his coaching staff obviously believe they can teach him, and perhaps he might come good, but it looks very bad at the moment.

They waited years for a RW player and for 55 million people expected the player to be better.

Killed her instead and you would have been released by now. At least our win made sure it wasn’t a completely wasted day.

I've just watched the Foden penalty incident and Schar doesn't even touch him... Foden dives and if he didn't he might have got one.

Catching up on this thread. Wow CC and Roly had an absolute stinker pre match.

Also, very interesting that when Hall and Tino are fit, firstly, EH plays them and, secondly, we play significantly better. Amazing what can happen when you’re not reduced to playing second and third choice players. Also amazing how some of us were able to predict this rather than wetting the bed.

Now we just need to wait and see the further improvement once Wissa is fit.

I went with a win despite expressing concerns which was sensible at the time.

It's away at Everton we need to see before asserting everythings resolved imo.

True. We would have bought Tonali, Bruno, Big Nick and Botman to name just a few who got away….oh, wait….err
