Trying to decide whether I can be arsed with Preston v Blackburn tonight. A local game but not sure if there's any actual rivalry there?
If anyone wants a reminder of how average this league is quality wise then look at Blackburn, who I thought were one of the worst teams I'd seen in years when we played them, who have won 4 of their last 5 games. Preston who've been in and around the top 6 all season were shocking. Anyone who thinks a play off charge isn't on is mental imo.
Watched the goals from the Pompey game. Two screamers and one almighty fluke where a cross took a deflection which looped over the GK. They needed that win today, but you can’t rely on worldies every week. Interesting to see how they go from here as they have their better players back from injury now.
Don't care about 17th but I'm eyeing the 9 point gap between us and 2nd and thinking we can get that down to 4 or 5 by Christmas.
Apart from Cov I don’t think the rest of the top 6 will still be there come May. Possibly Boro might sneak in.
One step at a time! Let's see how we get on v Leicester and Millwall. 4 points be a decent return imo but a win v Leicester would be huge psychologically as would put us level on points with them.
I will keep saying the sam thing. - I don’t care about what position we are in right now - I don’t care what the points gap to playoffs or 2nd is - only thing that matters is points at end of season. 90 points very likely 2nd place. That’s 2.3 per game from here. (With the tightness of the league so far this season, no runaway top 2 or 3, this could be lower. 84 is 2.1 per game from here) - 70 very likely gets you playoff. That’s 1.63 points per game. Not fused when we catch the various other teams. If we hit those targets we’ll make it, if we don’t then we won’t
Not sure who I want to win this one. Rationally I want SW to win, irrationally I want SU to win as they are red and white v Blue.
