Scotland are British….unless they are playing England I support them. Same for Wales and NI. Even include the ROI if there is no one else to support And anyway Scotland deserved it…great game.
A couple of examples of how daft this expanded tournament is and how much weaker it'll make groups. Iran/Australia are pot 2 teams. Panama/Uzbekistan are pot 3 teams.
Just watch the easy group the US gets put into. I don’t think they’ll get a tough game until the quarters. And they’ll get through that thanks to comical reffing.
As they're in pot one (as all hosts are) they will get a group they should get out of. And they won't get preferential treatment from referees.

You say that but there are teams to avoid in pots 2 and 3. Norway for example are in pot 3 so there is still potential for a group of death. If Italy qualify through the play offs you could end up with a group of Argentina/Brazil, Morocco, Norway, Italy. They'll still be some tricky grouos for the top seeds to navigate.
