Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven... When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven: don’t step on the ducks!" The next day, the second woman accidentally steps on a duck. St. Peter arrives, again with another extremely ugly man, and chains them together with the same warning. The third woman, seeing what’s happened to her friends, is determined to never step on a duck. She manages to go months without incident. Then one day, St. Peter comes up to her… with the most handsome man she has ever seen. Tall, built, gorgeous — movie-star material. Without saying a word, St. Peter chains them together and walks away. Overwhelmed, the woman says, “I don’t know what I did to deserve this!” The man replies, “I don’t know about you, but I stepped on a duck.”

I've seen similar before between hyenas and lions, they attack the lone lion and the pack it was previously said seeks retaliation. Although not sure if retaliation is true but more remove the problem from their territory.
