The current board and previous chairman have only ever referenced these songs as political. Sectarianism has nothing at all to do with this.
    This contradicts your belief.

    Specific songs?<laugh>

No, the BBC did not specifically reference the song at all. BBC Scotland changed the parameters of their referencing of the word "sectarian" to justify their position. The BBC Trust have acknowledged there is a case to answer by BBC Scotland over deliberately misleading their viewers. You would have no reason to know this, or particularly care. The belligerence of BBC Scotland emphasises nothing but their poor standard of reporting.

I don't know what verifiable facts you are referring to.

I am yet to see any real damage to the club as a result of any of the songs I like to sing. I have seen inaccurate **** being thrown. Meekly backing down because other people are stupid does not seem like a legitimate reason to stop. You have made reference to this in the form of the Hibs fan and proven liar Patrick Nevin. This is especially relevant because of the reasons I sing the songs in the first place. It is just a shame that the debate is about the songs rather than the messages they convey.

To reiterate, I am absolutely happy to revisit that if and when the time comes.
I fail to see exactly what I am not moving on from? My position remains valid. As does yours. Portraying me as some kind of stick in the mud for espousing a liberal politic is really rather odd.

Reb - I'm not answering your post point-by-point because I've had more than enough of this futile ding-dong. I think a fair summation is that you think I'm ignorant of the issues and that neither the board nor the authorities have an issue with rebel songs (no apostrophes) and hence there is no need to consider keeping them away from the stadium? I disagree (strongly) but have no desire to drag this out any longer.

As for your last point, it seems, to me at least, that you view Celtic primarily (or at least to a large extent) as a vehicle for expressing your political beliefs. That is what I think you're not and perhaps should, in the best interests of the club, be moving on from. <ok>

No, I think you are willfully dismissive of the nuances involved.
Perhaps I am too fastidious about them.

I think the board do have a problem with rebel songs.

Not so much a vehicle, but certainly an appropriate place to be doing it, but otherwise, yeah. Ok, I accept that.

No I regard people who talk absolute gibberish (as you have done) as "mental" and You won't "assume" that I may be "mental" but you will assume i'm not a real Celtic supporter? How does that work?

Personally I don't care if your son is Perry Mason because simply put, he is obviously as deluded as you seem to be if he belives the guff you are pouring out. No police officer of any rank (or leaning) would regard Rangers hateful chants as "funny dities", no police officer of a high rank would dismiss complaints against Rangers whilst carrying out a vendetta aganst Celtic - as you and your son are suggesting - and the Lord Chief Justice himself would not convince me otherwise, so we can dispense with that nonsense out of hand.

Even if there was some police conspiracy as you are suggesting, it does not justify the chants and songs which are getting "MY CLUB" into trouble. 2 Wrongs do not make a right.

I have never said that i'm a "wonderful a supporter", I have never made any claims about being a better fan than anyone else, (I think you may be getting me confused with yourself) and I don't "hate" ANYONE, certainly not the fans of my own team, and as for me not posting anything about Rangers, well i'm afraid that's another lie from your fingertips, I will agree and disagree dependent upon my opinion of the topic at hand, I will not agree (as I explained) just because someone happens to support Celtic and likewise I will not disagree just because someone else is a fan of Rangers.

And by the by, don't try the old "you are raging/beeling/furious" tactic with me, <grr> because it's neither original nor true, just like most of your posts.

ps Tell your "barrister" son (is it Popesicola btw?) that i'm crestfallen that you will not be divulging any more salacious gossip on here.

Thanks RL. I'd like to thank my parents for believing in me. And god for me giving me the strength to continue in the face of abject futility. This award isn't just for me, but to everyone who contributed to what was undoubtedly a nonsensical exercise. Special thanks to my partner-in-pointlessness, Rebel - he's the one that really drove this project sideways <weepingpaltrowsmiley>

Dev , How did Rangers get off almost Scot free after their fans destroyed part of the stand at a Champions League match recently.
Was it because of Rangers impeccable behaviour history; or was it the good report they got from a senior Strathclyde (supporter)
    policeman.
Dev did you see the great help and benefit the policeman that was nearest to Neil Lennon was when Neil was attacked by the Rangers/Hearts
fan John Wilson. The policeman made no attempt to look at or check that thug did not have a knife or a gun which could have led to a real disaster
and a man with his expertise could probably prevent Wilson from using it.
No Dev, the "cop" spent the whole time watching the Celtic fans, probably hoping for an obscene gesture, even though there were other policemen a lot closer to the Celtic fans. Of course this also prevented this "cop" from seeing and probably preventing any other Rangers/Hearts fans entering the pitch and attacking the Celtic management. When Wilson was eventually led away, to a standing ovation from the fans the cop kept his head down because he did not want to see any of the Rangers/Hearts fans doing/shouting anything wrong.

Is this is a new club? Or is it just an example of the usual narrow minded bigotry?

Dev Advocate, to be honest you are not worth a response either, or never have been but I live in hope that you may mature and loose your innocence.
Your naivety is rarely found among people, even those of below average IQ.
I often worry that other people might think that you are representative of Celtic fans.
