I started typing my thoughts on the signings pondering why and the logic behind the transfer window then deleted it. Just an utter deflated feeling. Putting this out there though, I wanted Bijol, he plays two games and we concede six goals against teams in the bottom half
Not just the 49ers these are Farkes signings and then he added 2 injury prone strikers with poor scoring records because they were free and the gamble hasn’t paid off
That’s caster semenya - close but no cigar Which I think was the official conclusion of all those tests they put the poor girl through
Yep, sounds like Leeds rate him highly. He was my 1st choice before Farke took over. He was my first choice when we got rid of Marsch to be fair.
Struggling a bit at Valencia but worked with no money at West Brom but always had them in and around the play offs, if Farke goes, whoever comes in will have little or no money to spend, which is probably why theyre sounding him out, that fact isnt going to be an attractive proposition to many.
Personally I think Struijk’s done ok, not impressed by Bijol, particularly his distribution which I think has been very poor. Think this has caused problems with us getting the ball forward more slowly than when Struijk plays.
Swap a coach who has us fifth from bottom in pl with a coach who has Valencia fourth from bottom in spain. Be better to wait till corberan is sacked cos he won’t cost anything
I think you’re missing the obvious here Eire. Farke is a championship level coach. Only good at getting out of the championship if his team is vastly superior to the opposition. Corboran has managed in the championship but clearly, by even being given the job at Valencia, (however unsuccessful he currently is), he’s a level above. what is it about this ‘levels of management’ that you find so hard to understand.
Valencia has struggled for years. They sell their best players every summer to survive the heavy debt they are in. They are heavily handicapped in the transfer market. Corberan also likes to play the 4-2-3-1 system and we have the right players for that system already at the club. He knows the club well, the club know him well. Its a genuinely thought through appointment. It makes sense unlike appointing Viera 'cos I like him' argument.
exactly, he’s battle hardened, for the job jokes aside he’s typically taken over struggling clubs and done pretty well with them… he did a great job at Huddersfield, did well at West Brom though they were underperforming results wise but not performance wise when he took over (so I think that’s flattering) Valencia were in the relegation zone last year when he went and he kept them up. is he premier league level? Don’t expect beautiful football if he comes mind.
I went to quite a few West Brom games when he was there and it wasn't pretty. What I found strange with his game plan was his wingers cutting in field rather than using width, problem was that made it a crowded midfield and the full backs had no cover when the move broke down. They didnt concede many, he relied heavily on a rigid back 4 for that, which wouldn't suit Bogle's game but could be better for Gudmundsson
