Match Day Thread Swansea City v Ipswich Town

This has been niggling me all season. If AS was that good and "the project" appealing then wouldn't O'Brien and Darling have wanted to stay? Something not quite right there and I think you could be right Taff.

 

What has gone wrong with Swansea City....we ended last season on a high and started this feeling very positive with all the signings that were made fairly early....the Celtic no 2 joined us to "help" AS and since then our tactics seem to have disappeared in to a possession based sideways backwards morass that goes nowhere....Vipotnik ran around like a lost soul on Saturday with little if any assistance from the other players whom themselves looked as if they were just going through the motions. Our players are better than this and I think AS is still the man for the job but is the no 2?

 

Sheehan current favourite to be next for the sack :

Ok.

In the past I have been critical of our managerial appointments.And in my opinion correct.
Anyway.
When AS was appointed I felt the correct decision had been made.
The board put their faith,trust in him.
They made funds available we have not seen for a long time.
We now find results going against us.
Gee this is football.
We cannot carry on sacking managers.The cost to the club for starters
Anyway.....enough of my talk......
Bottom line.......I support AS and I stand to be shot down.......in the nice possible way.....YJBs

 

Perhaps AS needs to get rid of O'Dea who seems to be the ****** in the woodpile since he joined

 

But that sounds like his number 2 is running the show. That can't be good and doesn't give confidence if AS isn't in control.

 

I sit on level 2 behind the dug out in the prawn sandwich stand and often in games see the 2 of them arguing about the way the game is going...doesnt look good.
End of last season AS had control even though he had brought in 2 assistants for help and we played a more attractive attacking football getting us off our seats. Now we get off our seats to go for the toilets or a half time cuppa

 

Pre match talk was exactly that.
Word from inside the camp is that the players do not like him.

Edit......if true then AS needs to sort it or it could end up costing him his job.

Any update on that please mate?

 

All I can say is that my contact in the club told me before the season started that, if we weren’t there or thereabouts by November, AS would be out. Spoke with him yesterday and he said that he doesn’t expect anything to happen soon.

My other contact told me last week - as he had done a fortnight ago - that December is the key month for AS (I’m guessing because of the upcoming transfer window.) He has a direct line to the Board.

Very odd that the style of football has changed sine O'Dea has appeared...who has the last word? Back in the good old days the manager had control and his assistant and spongeman were the only other main members of the first team chargehands...

They obviously took a couple of days after the Ipswich match to ‘mull things over’ and check who is available and who wants to come now.

If I’m right, expect an early appointment
