He looks better than Paddy with crosses - his flaps seem to go a bit futher away from the goal than Paddy's! There's a lot of positive stuff on here about Gomes, but I remember him most for his howlers. Probably because the media show more repeats of goalkeeping howlers than they do of great saves, and certainly more than how they handle crosses, control with their feet etc.
Believe that Tom Heaton, currently #2 at Cardiff would be a sound choice. He did a good job in goal for us while on loan - recall the Chelsea cup game we lost 1-0.
Don't know Lewis, never saw him play, so can't make a comment on him. If it was a toss up between Gomes and Robinson, i would take Robinson all day.
I really don't get some peoples views on this . The guy has played over 100 PL games for spurs ( top 4 one season and record for clean sheets ) , played for PSV in the CL and reaching the semis, and at the time was rated the most sought after keeper in Europe , played for the Brazil national side. Some people think we would be better with Murphy ( never heard of him before this season and was number two at ipswich before he came to us ) . Cerney - Did you not see the leeds game last season. Cardiffs number 2 choice Surely it would be good to get a player with experience , hunger and a point to prove. Also pushing Kenny for number one spot rather than him just assuming its his. Personally think this could be a massive signing in keeping us up if it were to happen..
Maybe Gomes would be a good acquisition, but if he's still so good I wonder why he is only no 2 to another old man at Spurs? Seem to recollect his bad mistakes came when he was Spurs No 1, and he lost his place because of them. I was at the Leeds game but don't remember Cerny screwing up. After we scored the rest of the game seemed to become irrelevant for the players and fans alike as the realisation we were up sank in - I can hardly remember the Leeds goals!
I would be amazed if he joined us as a no2 but would also be happy.I just think he'll leave Spurs to come to us as a no2
Im sorry, did i just read that some people on here would be happier with Cardiffs number 2(yes two) keeper than Gomes? Are some people completely lost?
