I'm with Jay inasmuch as I think Real are overrated - but not to the extent Jay is claiming. I do rate Mbappe though, but when you compare him to truly great players like an Henry or a Weah, he isn't at that level. I absolutely think Vinicius and Bellingham are totally overrated and this is coming from someone that thinks Bellingham is a very good player, he seems to have gone off the boil this season.

I don't think his (Mbappe) scoring record for France should be any kind of guide, Giroud also outscored Henry for France and nobody thinks Giroud comes even remotely close to Henry as a player.

I think Mbappe's technique is pretty average to be honest, thats why he is significantly below an Henry or a Weah. He is very fast and that gets him 75% of his goals not his technique. Its rare that I see an Mbappe goal and think "top tekkers", a lot of his shots are straight at the keeper too. Same with Michael Owen, his pace got him most of his goals not his technique.

I'm sure the Europa used to be a vaguely acceptable trophy... has anyone SEEN the teams in that table?!

And the europa conference table is comical. It's like reading the league table of a pub sunday league.

It was awful last year - just look at the final, too many teams in the UCL now.

On the one hand you can say if you win the CL that you had to beat lots of top teams to do so, but on the other hand, before the CL, you could only qualify by winning your domestic league so arguably that made it harder to win the European Cup.

How the hell did Amorim win Manager of the month for October! 3 wins - 8 goals for - 3 goals against

Ermmm forgetting our perfect run in October of no goals conceeded and 4 wins in the EPL along with 2 UCL wins without conceeding.

Maybe because it is Manager of the month and not Team of the month ?
He got the award because of the improvement we have shown over that period, not because we were the best tream.

That's not how Amorim himself sees it. "The credit is not mine, the credit is for my players," said Amorim, whose side were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two Grimsby Town in August.

I understand where you are coming from Diego, but what Arteta and/or the team had done in October was pretty special, even by Arsenal's own standards.

Any decent manager will always give credit to the players s that comment is standard.
The reason Amorim was selected is because of the improvement in performances which is only right because all mangers get/take the blame when the team are ****.

The Europa meant nothing as soon as the 3rd place teams in the CL stopped entering it. The quality is terrible,
The Community Shield is much harder to win than the Europa League and far more prestigious.

Good result for us today - Spurs and Utd dropping points.
Doesn't mean much if we don't beat Sunderland, though.

I would like Liverpool to win today - don't say that very often.
City will move to within 4 pts with a win and we still need to go the Etihad.
Liverpool have to come to the Emirates.

A draw is the best outcome from that game IMO. Liverpool winning wouldn't be good because they have (on paper) a relatively easy/kind fixture list when we get back from the international break.

    City our main rivals again.

    Liverpool just aren't that good.

Well, it looks like it'll be a Man City - Arsenal title race.

Strap in lads because we're in for a bumpy ride this season.

    Chelsea, City and Arsenal.
Chelsea had a rough start but they are only 6 points behind now and we have to travel to their place very soon.
It may still be too early to write off Liverpool - they are only 8 points off the lead with 27 games to go.
The officials appeared to cheat for City yesterday. Liverpool are not used to be being on the receiving end of that kind of officiating, so it affected their players more than it would us.

I don't think Chelsea or Liverpool will be consistent enough this Season.

Consider Liverpool won the league on 82 points last Season & they look weaker this year. Isak and Ekitike are both going to be good signings but for me Wirtz has weakened the side, they've lost Trents quality and Diaz's directness. While Salah, Robertson & Van Dijk are another year older and their performance levels are dropping.

Chelsea look great one minute then awful the next. I feel like they still have too many defensive weaknesses to challenge.

City are scary though - but if they have anywhere near the injury numbers we have they will be in trouble.

In the PL era, no team has ever won the league losing more than 6 games.
Liverpool have lost 5 games and we're in November.

Unless you think they're going to go on a sensational run of form that matches their 19/20 season form, or they match City's 17/18's form, it is highly unlikely they retain the title.

Chelsea are good in the big games, but they are a mixed bag against teams outside the top-6. I just don't think they have the experience or the consistency to sustain a title challenge til the end.

Arsenal and Man City are clear front-runners for this title. I still think we've got the best balanced squad in the league when everyone is fit, but City have the best striker in the world, best DM in the world and best manager in the world, so they cannot be ruled out.
