I'm team Baz as at least he is improving. Mccarthy has been doing this for a decade.

Fair enough. He's better at commanding his area than 2 years ago for my money. Still dodgy low and close to the body.

Macca is a better shot stopper for sure but nothing else.

Keeper's rarely excel at 22. Most top level keepers have their breakout much older than Baz is now.

 

Skates lost so a massive opportunity to put some daylight between us and them.

I disagree about commanding his box, I think he's better at dealing with crosses close to him than he used to be but still don't think he organises the defence well enough or carries enough presence.

For me his biggest flaw by far is his positioning and that hasn't really improved at all imo.

Either way I think we can all agree that neither option is particularly good enough and we need another.

Not sure I buy the argument that we should play Baz cos he might improve. Even if he does we'll just sell him, seems pointless sticking with a poor keeper for 4 years or whatever just to get a decent one for 4 months.

 

I think if the option is McCarthy or Baz then you play Baz because he might improve and neither are particularly good

Baz’s possible (not guaranteed) improvement shouldn’t stop us signing another keeper though.

I’d play McCarthy personally.

He’s bad with his feet, but he can occasionally make a save. Bazunu doesn’t have many redeeming qualities tbh, apart from his attacking headers.

 

I disagree, if neither are good enough then you simply play the better one imo.

Yeah you wonder whether being first choice at a young age has actually helped or hindered him.
