noticed he still has bandage/padding on the wrist...45 mins is good for him but he simply showed very little interest, maybe just me looking for more from him.

Yeah youd think after so long out he'd be desperate to put in a performance to get into a Premiership match day squad asap.

I think his time here is done now.

It's canny tbf. Decent little cafe down at Eppleton, the lasses in there do a great job with the food. Parking is not so good though if you drive down, need to get there early. KO usually at 7 but need to be there before 6 to get a space in the gym car park. Gates open at 6pm.
Playing at the SoL next week in their euro cup campaign, would be surprised to see Dan Neil and a few other first teamers get minutes.

Free entry for season ticket holders.

Sunderland Under-21s claimed a 4-2 victory over league leaders Ipswich Town, who had been unbeaten prior to this fixture, in Premier League 2 at Eppleton CW.
Goals from Harrison Jones, Jaydon Jones, Timur Tutierov and Jake Waters secured the win for the young Black Cats.
The match also marked the first appearance of the 2025-26 season for Dennis Cirkin, returning from a summer of wrist and knee injuries.
Finn Geragusian led the line, while Ben Middlemas captained the side.
The breakthrough came in the 10th minute when H.Jones finished from the centre of the box, assisted by Geragusian, putting the Lads 1-0 up.
Ipswich responded and drew level in the 36th minute as James Mauge converted from close range following a pass from Finley Barbrook.
Cirkin was replaced by Archie Lightfoot who quickly turned provider. The fullback cut the ball back to Jaydon Jones on 60
to slot the ball home and regain the Sunderland lead.
Tutierov extended the advantage in the 64th minute, finishing inside the area following the through ball from Middlemas.
Jake Waters, who had replaced Geragusian in the 62nd minute, marked his return from a long-term injury with his first goal in the 84th minute,
a right-footed finish from the centre of the box following a pass from Moore.
Ipswich pulled a late goal back through Mendel-Idowu in the 86th minute, finishing from the centre of the box, but Sunderland held on for the 4-2 victory.
Sunderland now look ahead to next Wednesday’s Premier League International Cup fixture against Athletic Club at the Stadium of Light.

SAFC: Metcalf, Jenson Jones, Kindon, Neild, Cirkin (Lightfoot), Middlemas, Jaydon Jones, Harrison Jones, Whittaker (Moore), Tutierov (Walsh), Geragusian (Waters)

    Unused sub: Cowan

Great to hear OA , thanks for the much appreciated insights <applause>. What a second half performance that was against such a streetwise, powerful and very talented outfit . That second half was the best I have seen us play in a while, no coincidence either that the half time change made all the difference. The whole team looked inspired second half and the scenes at the end of exhaustion said it all. Lets hope our brilliant first team squad were watching and can repeat this level of performance later on to-day, why not ? . OaU.

What's the crack for parking at the SoL / surrounding area for the U21s Ollie, do you know? The nearby streets normally have the restrictions on match days.

Not sure these days mate, whenever I've gone in the past I've just parked in the West stand car park, plenty of spaces available and no charge. Never needed to park in the side streets, they never used to close the roads or anything like they do on a normal match day.

Might be a 45mins for Mundle and few of the lads who haven't had many mins this season. Not long until AFCON and they will need to be ready to go

U18s 3-1 up going into half time - I believe the trialist who scored the 3rd is Triziano Sanchez from derby? Not totally sure.
