As is looking likely as things stand in the PL, Bolton W. look nailed on for relegation. They have also published a list of players who are Out Of Contract next summer. So, assuming that HULL CITY were to gain promotion back to the PL-promised land - who from this list would be worth going after for the Tigers. ?? GK...Jussi Jaaskelainen Defenders.....Sam Ricketts, Gretar Steinsson, Zat Knight, Paul Robinson. **Gary Cahill is also on the list but he will be gone in january(more than likely to chelsea)** Midfielders.....Martin Petrov, Sean Davis, Tuncay, Ricardo Gardner, Forwards.......Ivan Klasnic, Kevin Davies, Robbie Blake. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There are many others at other PL clubs also out of contract. So shall we have some fun and see who would add the much needed strength for our current youthful squad that would not cost a penny in transfer fees. So feel free to add any others from elsewhere. I've started the ball rolling with Boltons out of contract players as an example.
No point in looking so far ahead, only about 10% of potential free agents actually become them at the end of the season. 1) They could sign a new deal 2) They could move clubs for a lower than usual fee. 3) They could sign a pre-contract with a foreign club from 30th December. (Depending on contract expiry date, 99% of them are 30th June) Let's start looking at the potential frees when they only have a fortnight or two to run on their contracts.
Unless you have got in the prem, the problem with ex EPL players (unless they are coming to the last few career years) is the wages they have been spoilt with. No harm in finding out though.
I don't think Bolton are nailed on for relegation, they've certainly started badly, but they've got a decent squad, a decent manager and less than 40% of the games have been played so far, there's still time for them to sort themselves out. As a consequence, I think half those players will probably be offered new contracts.
Well those of us who work in sight of the Reebok (I literally used to have a desk in the North Stand!) reckon they'll be playing 46 games next season. Kind of cruel, but I hope so, because I have a parking spot in their car parks that has to be vacated by 4:30 on match days, I never say no to beating the traffic home!
It's silly to say Bolton are nailed for relegation. They've got a good team, a good manager and also have been riddled with injuries of late which have contributed to there poor form. I'm sure they'll turn it around though. However, saying that, the only player on the list I'd take would be Sambo.
sorry FT but this is a silly speculative topic. I think you need to find summat to do on a Friday evening
