Oh I do agree, he's certainly not my choice, and not only because he played for that lot. But that latter fact I guess is critical.
I was pulling your leg - it looked like you were telling me to **** off. I knew what you meant though.
Last night showed that the players have some fight in them based on the last 15 mins. Sure it’s not the way anyone wants to see one of the most expensive squad/wage bill in the league play to see out a result but with confidence what it is we just needed to get over the line and hopefully things can improve from here now we got that win. Sheff Weds will teach us absolutely nothing about Tonda. If we win we are expected to, if we draw or lose it will likely be another Swansea type game where we miss a lot of chances and “it wasn’t our day”. Ultimately this is a squad that is talented for this level but appears to have some senior players calling the shots. It depends how the club want to approach it. Tonda appointment would feel like they are comfortable with that scenario for now and want to appease the players (mentioned it already but going back to Martin style goal kicks last night screams of the players choosing to do that) in the hope that they start playing and we can climb up the league, maybe even get promoted. Maybe the fear is bringing in a new face who the players may or may not get on with could **** us further. If that is their line of thinking then I hope the plan is to move on a lot of whoever the “leadership group” is after this season, regardless of the outcome of the season. The obvious names we’ve speculated about will likely all have to be moved on anyway as we won’t be able to afford them any more but rather than people being unhappy about that I think it could be seen as a positive
I was just thinking that if we did end up with Brendan Rodgers It would save him from having to hide in a tree at Staplewood.
Just read an article that claims O’Neil turned down the Wolves job last week, so seems unlikely he’d take the Saints job even if offered
So O'Neil turning down Wolves has lead to them turning to Edwards. Which means that if he joins them, then Boro will be joining us in looking for a new manager. And they're likely to be looking in a similar pool to us. Although in a weird twist, O'Neil's best period as a player was arguably his time at Boro. So maybe him turning down Wolves could ultimately end up with him back at Boro and Edwards back at Wolves.
I know you're kidding but imagine Martin with Pompey's team Would be ****ing brilliant to watch their 8 ft ogres try and pass it about
We dont appear to be any closer to selecting our next manager. I think the current chap as he has a win % of 100.
