    I've just found out he's serving a three match suspension<grr>. Why didn't we appeal it, it was never a straight red, his studs weren't even up. As a result we've lost him for 3 matches instead of 1 when we really need him over the christmas period.

    I'd rather have Abeid in there than him to be honest. No massive loss unless someone else gets injured. Even then we've got Vuckic and Perch who i'd rather have CM than him.

    Why wouldn't it be 3 matches? It was a straight red.

    You do realise BBC get things wrong consistently.

    Not sure why we didnt appeal, good point. I didnt think it deserved a straight red either. Strange one.

    It's 3 matches. Why the hell didnt we appeal? At worst, it still wouldnt be considered frivolous appeal.

    Vuckic would be risky though, our good defence is in no small part due to the fact we play 2 deep centre midfielders (Tiote, Cabaye, Guthrie, Abeid, Gosling, Perch all sit back) whereas Vuckic is much more attacking.

    Gosling has been playing poorly, so its no real loss.

    We need Tiote back soon though.

    To be fair I think Gosling would play much better with Tiote or in a 5 man midfield, he makes a lot of decent runs forward.

    Two yellows resulting in a red is a one match ban, a straight red, even with a prior single yellow, is a three match ban.

    We should have appealed. Don't care how he's been playing, it's worrying having this many CM's out for so long. Tiote's still a doubt, and if Cabaye picks up another yellow tomorrow then he gets a customary ban. Who will we have then to play the week after, Smith? <yikes>
