What a ****ing daft thing to say MR. How can fasting not (not even drink water) not affect a player's game? Keep in mind that sunset was around 8.45pm in September...
If he isn't fit to play, don't ****ing play him. Don't come out later and say he wasn't fit, to use it as an excuse. Be interesting with the Olympics, as they fall on Ramadan. The Muslims are already claiming it's a conspiracy. What's the betting dispensations are put in place by their holy leaders.
He was still playing better than anyone else would have, but he wasn't his usual amazing self because he wouldn't have been 100%. That's the point we are getting at.
I'm not saying he wasn't fit but at the end of the day a half fit Tiote would have been better than a fully fit Guthrie or Gosling but to say it doesn't affect footballers is just idiotic.
I'm saying it's a bullshit excuse. They can eat and drink as much as they want to build up their levels for during the day. If they can't handle it and are unfit they shouldn't be played. http://www.islam101.com/ramadan/foodTips.htm
So they wake up at around 10am , don't eat or drink anything during what is a period in the summer with relatively high temperatures. Then they go through 5 hours without eating or drinking , then play one of the most intense sports in the world (especially for Tiote running after the ball and chasing opposition players) and you say it's not an excuse? Sure , the link you posted can help and ease it , but you're not going to tell me he will have energy levels as high as the other 21 players on the pitch , right? It is an excuse for a poor performance and if Ramadan lasted for 2 months and his performances were as bad as they were when he was fasting , I would drop him. But he only played like 3 or 4 games during Ramadan.
No it isn't an excuse, if he isn't fit don't play him. When Fergie takes him off your hands he wont be making excuses for him. 10 am? Lazy sods. High temperatures? Were you playing in Saudi? Not going to do your research for you, but I think you will find running backs in American football have to put a hell of a lot of exertion in. Quite a few Muslims in that sport too. Don't hear any bleating from them. Or do their coach's just not play them?
There is a bell ringing session to mark the end of this festival... it is popularly known as the Ramadan a ding dong...
They are allowed to abstain from Ramadan if they are working away from home. Like that boro player, he had no problem for away games but he fasted when they played at home.
You're missing the point , it isn't an excuse for bad team performances , it's an excuse for his personal poor performance , which seems quite logic to me. Playing under 25 degrees having not eaten or drank anything for 8-9 hours is really difficult and only a fool will deny it.
How is he obsessed by saying he has better things to do than watch your lot? Surely that is this antithesis of obsessed. (You really are stupid aren't you!) Now talking of obsession, lets talk about yours with our board. And your total fail at trying to score points with your inane posts.
Dear me do you actually read what is written or just go straight in with the same argument as it's easier. Who mentioned team performance, or are you saying Tiote is your team? Only a fool would then play him and bleat about it afterwards. IF HE ISN'T CAPABLE OF PLAYING HIS BEST AND YOU KNOW HE IS GOING TO HAVE A POOR PERFORMANCE, HE SHOULDN'T BE PLAYED! To then claim he didn't play well because of Ramadan IS AN EXCUSE!
