We should be looking at getting 6 points from 6 out of these games but this is Chelsea we are talking about. With the fixtures coming thick and fast I think we'll need a bit of squad rotation, give Torres as run against Wigan and then of course we have what is our biggest game of the season so far at WHL on Thursday. Bring it ON!
4 points normally wouldn't be bad but given the home points dropped against Liverpool and Arsenal, we need to make the big away games count more. 6 would be a lovely xmas present.
I agree and think AVB will play Torres vs wigan because Drog needs a rest and AVB will want him for the yids game, if we can get 6 points i'd be over the moon, we could say were be happy with 4 but not really, we need 6 and we want 6
Four points is the absolute minimum for us from those games. Six is clearly much more desirable. I think Torres against Wigan would be a good opportunity. Hopefully he can take advantage of it.
It all depends on the ref in our game. Out of interest are you guys planning on scoring any legitimate goals against us this year?
I always look forward to the Chelsea game, and to taking 3 points from you, at the Lane. I see no reason to alter my thinking, based on how this season has unfolded thus far
Since 2005 the Lane hasn't been as happy a hunting ground as it was for the fifteen years prior to that, but it can all change in an instant... Looking forward to both games, nothing is a given in either so makes for a couple of really exciting fixtures.
I do not see a slip up against Wigan. Play Torres and Lamps. 0-3 to the Blues. 3 points. Against the Spuds, the result will will almost certainly rest on the forecast of SherrifJWPepper! If he goes 2-1 to them , then the outcome will 0-2 to the Blues and another 3 points!
I agree let Torres start against Wigan so Drogba can rest and be 100% fit for the Tottenham match. Chelsea should get 6 points from these match's.
Spurs will be tight, 2-1 either way. May come down to an individual error or decisions on the day. We were a penalty miss from beating them their last year so we are very capable. Plus we have Mata now!!
We did last season. The Drogba goal Unlike your offside goal at WHL and goal at the Bridge which came from an incorrect throw in given in your favour The linesmen were in our favour, the ref in yours. You should have ended both games with 10 men but had the ref in your pocket
As you say, things can change. Liverpool have won 4 out of the last 5 games we've played them at the Bridge. Prior to 2004, they hadn't beaten us at the Bridge since Dalglish won them the title there
I think we may get a surprise and Wigan will be a tougher game. We'll take care of spurs: we always do. They've peaked early and sliding down the table now
Maybe against you, but not against us. I can only recall Adebayor scoring against us once for City, a goal that shouldn't even of stood
