I don’t think championship experience is essential tbh. We have plenty of that within the playing squad, just need someone they actually will play for and who will set the team up in the right way (eg not overly defensive with the squad we have).

It’s why someone like Vieira/Carrick intrigues me as they both have far better playing careers than any of our players and I think would immediately command some respect from them because of that (I know Carrick has Champ experience as well)

Basically I don’t think we need the next Fergie to rock up to get this squad playing well in this league, just someone who the ****s will actually listen to and play for

I do wonder if Adi Hutter is more of a possibility than Marco Rose. Based on nothing, he feels more gettable, yet would still be something of a coup for us.

Yeah I just think for once, the club needs to appease the fans somewhat. They’ve gone for the experimental option every time, and it always goes wrong. At least if they went for a popular choice this time round, the fans can’t blame them six months later when it goes tits up.

    They will blame them though.

I agree with & have said previously but his showing against Blackburn was really abysmal. Definitely needs a reset.

Too many bad performances from him already. Needs a couple years out on loan.

Looking at Germany, with Spors knowledge of the leagues, is definitely a positive. Lots of good coaches in Germany, and some good coaches that are currently out of work (convincing them to join us might be the hardest part in that regard). We have the International break coming up, so no need to rush into an appointment this week.

That would be beastly, took Dortmund to Champions League final if remember correctly?? Also, those suggesting Marco Rose, id be buzzing with him too. Both him & Terzic have managed at way higher levels than the Championship & if we get player recruitment right for them could make leap to Prem imo

I think I read somewhere that Tonda used to assist Rose at youth level in Germany?

Can we please stop this talk of Marco Rose. I have an uncontrollable trouser-twitch. It's not going to happen (please happen).

Not so sure on that tbh. Neither has coached in England & none are gonna get a Prem job currently. If they want a job in England then with our squad, budget & academy then we’re an attractive prospect for any coach wanting to work hard & earn their right to manage in the Prem.

I know Marco Rose said something about wanting to go abroad when he left Leipzig

Rose or Hütter would be insanely big coups, as I've said from the start.

I do hear ya and we are currently a huge step down to the level they have most recently coached, but it was also only 5 years ago that we were top of the Prem after 8 games (thanks to whoever shared that photo on here earlier). With the right person at the helm, there’s no reason we can’t replicate that type of performance - just look at the current Prem table with Sunderland!!

It was definitely time for a change from Still, but that said we have been so unlucky this season too and someone with their quality might feel like they could have us firing on all cylinders quite quickly with the players we have. They all really do just need a proper kick up the arse & someone of their level to shake their heads about a bit

Time for Spors to earn his bread!!

Romeu’s return is obviously preparing the way for the arrival of the man who first gave him his shot in senior football, a certain Josep Guardiola.

    You read it here first.
