Ah I forgot about the international break. That does change things a bit then. But it would be interesting if we look completely different under him and win the next two. Not that I think it's going to happen so not a decision that we'd need to worry about
My mate reckons Andrew (the former Prince) is looking for a new job and was spotted in Southampton earlier albeit getting on a boat
I never thought they'd give Selles the job (albeit until the end of that season) after two games. But they did.
7 managers in 3 years. Huge player turnover. Only 1 member of the board leaving. It's obvious where the problem is. The next manager won't do much better. This team should be at the top of the table. I'm happy to be Saints manager for 5 months then sit on my arsenal for 2 and a half years getting paid for doing nothing. I'm happy to be the rock bottom, Ali Dia of management.
We could win the next two with an aggregate score of 14-2 and I still think it'd be beyond ****ing daft to appoint him.
And I think the majority would agree, but the unknown is how highly Spors thinks of him. Clearly enough to bring him with him when he got the job so maybe he’s always thought of him as a potential manager at a club he’s at, and now he may get the chance. I don’t think it will be him but wouldn’t rule it out, and brendy makes a very good point about Trollope staying
Christ, he looks like the kid outside the co-op, who gave me some money to buy him 20 Lambert and Butlers last week!!
Which is why I wasn't fully on-board with getting rid. It was ****ing nailed on that SR would try to be clever. Again. It's like groundhog day with these amateur ****s
We are in such an unappealing position for any potential manager. Poor start, no striker, trigger happy board. If you did brilliantly and got promoted, you’re in even bigger trouble next season. Less than that abs you’re essentially playing for nothing for this season I can see a logic in going with the U21 guy. As long as he does well enough to avoid relegation, SR can re-evaluate next summer; keep him on or look for someone new in a more positive position to attract someone in. Not what I’d choose to do but I can see a logic
And people think they'll get this appointment right? Yeah right. They're ****ing clowns, decimating our club. Genuinely starting to wonder if they're undercover Pompey fans on a hatchet job.
That Russel Martin must be alright. For the first time in almost 50 years, I'm actually embarrassed to be a Saints supporter. Its not Will Still, it cant be. I'm starting to think we are a broken violin with a string missing and the best virtuoso in the world couldnt make it sound good.
Joking? The guy that's barely been in the job 6 months and comes with a great reputation versus the people that have been in charge for years?
He hasn't though, has he. Just the two errors he's made (striker and manager) have been pretty glaring and critical. The others signings are decent. There are far bigger problems than Spors, and I'd start with the "senior players" in that.
The Club has form on this promotion from within stuff, remember Stuart Gray and then Steve Wigley? That all went well, not.
