In honesty, I don’t give a flying f*ck who it is as long as they kick this current lot into shape & we start winning games (FAST!) If that’s Tonda Civic then happy days, if it’s the ever arrogant Brendan Codger then I don’t care. I just want to see this lot fight & win!!
Mate of mine told me he saw Martin on MOTD/MNF or something where he said that basically he thought he was guaranteed to stay in the job regardless of how the PL season went. The club understood how hard it was to go up and stay up but had faith in him to yoyo and have a better shot at survival the next time we came up. No idea how true it is, but if that was the case then maybe Martin is pissed he got sacked and the club are pissed they had to sack him because of just how bad the PL season was.
Kind of up for it… League One minus 10 was the catalyst to the most fun 5-10 years I’ve had as a saints fan, if it means SR sell to Markus mk2 then I’m all for it!!!
I'm sure at the fans forum Parsons said something like they thought he was doing pretty well and had been unlucky with VAR but had to sack him due to fan reaction. Obviously I'm paraphrasing there but I'm sure that was the gist of it.
Club apparently started drawing up a candidate list last month including Robins, Carsley and O’Neill with Lampard being number 1 target.
It’s not going to be Martin. He probably thinks the fans are all ****s for turning on him so won’t want to come back. And if he doesn’t start well then the fans will be on his back immediately too. Plus you have the whole “what do we do if we go up under him” scenario again, but this time with a **** ton of evidence about why he should be sacked even if he does get us up at some point
What ****ing planet are these ****s living on if they genuinely think Fat Frank is attainable. Edit - is it attainable or obtainable?
The next few days or weeks writes itself doenst it. Try and get someone unattainable. Fail. Maybe get a good result. Oh we'll stick with the interim.
Followed in February by "Well we tried for Haaland but we couldn't get him so got the back up from the Venezuelan champions instead."
Is Robins Stoke manager? If you think we could get Neil then I don’t see Robins as much more of a reach. The four main factors will be: 1. how much they will be getting paid 2. How highly they rate our current squad and what they think they can achieve with it 3. What sort of budget they are told they will have in Jan 4. What the board are telling them the minimum requirement is for this season, and if they think it’s attainable given the above. Although if point 1 is high enough then they probably don’t care if they get sacked anyway so will give it a go
Would also add that for top ex players (Carrick, Gerrard of the ones who have been mentioned) point 1 is irrelevant as their salaries will be **** all compared to what they earnt as players, so as long as they haven’t blown their career earnings they can pick and choose what job they fancy, and clearly are still involved for the love of the game/boredom more than anything
