No offence to the guy, but SR can absolutely **** off with this nonsense if true.

Get someone with actual Championship experience in and stop trying to be too clever, they have hired one semi-successful manager out of 5 attempts now and even he turned out to be one of the biggest Premier League disasters ever seen.

I want to say I can't and that I'd be astonished if we did that...

But I don't actually think I would be.

I actually think Still will turn out to be a success elsewhere, wrong appointment for the wrong time. You don't do what he has in France without some sort of competence. But yeah he was wrong for us in this moment, I hold no ill will towards him at all.

I think we will be lucky if the next manager doesn't struggle too, it all hinges on SR actually getting the players we need in January, but I have no faith in them at all, it would pretty much be the first time they have ever acknowledged our deficiencies.

I hope that every single first team squad member is at home tonight having a serious look at themselves in the mirror as they ALL have blood on their hands and most of them for 15 months or so. Absolutely gutless, shocking excuses for being paid as professional footballers.

From what I can tell, Spors would have spent time with Eckert at both Leipzig and Genoa.

If it's Eckert then we're ****ed. Another left field, rogue choice with our overlords trying to make themselves look clever.

****ing get in someone proven you utter ****s.

They might as well bring Eckhart Tolle in......things would be much more chilled in the dressing room!

    We might actually appoint him.

In fairness if a 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday isn't a reason to give a novice a job then what is.

It will be interesting. They gave Selles the job after a couple of games as interim, but we were much later into the season then and basically relegated.

If we win the next two I can definitely see them giving it to him until the end of the season. Looking at the list of names it’s not like there’s a real stand out candidate, and we have no idea how Eckart is seen behind the scenes with the players etc

Totally agree another "ooohh look at us, aren't we so clever" before it all falls completely to pieces!
We are crying out for an experienced championship manager to steady the ship before we sink into League One, not some clever left field experiment again!
SR are total ****ing ****ers to a man!

Not really. You can give him a run as interim whilst conducting interviews with others. If he is doing well then great, keep him until end of the season and reassess. If he is **** then just crack on with the new appointment.

It would also fit with why Trollope has been retained. If we were looking for an experienced hire, they would likely bring their own assistant with them. Whereas that wouldn't be the case if we promote Eckert. Instead, Trollope could continue as his assistant.

It might just be that we want to keep Trollope around until the new appointment is made. But if that was the case, then making him the caretaker would make more sense. Which is why I'm inclined to rule out that possibility.

Surely you wouldn't base that decision on two matches though? And that means it's 3 weeks to find someone.

It'd be absolutely ****ing bonkers to give it to this bloke after a bounce. Soon as we hit a bad run of form we'll be back where we are now.

We need someone with real authority and experience.

If he does get it it will be because Spors thinks highly of him, not because he wins a couple of games.

I do think that no matter how highly Spors thinks of him he won’t appoint him if he doesn’t win the next two though as the backlash would be huge. At least if he wins next two then has that to point at and might persuade some to give him a chance
