Surprised Still is still here, but is surely just a matter of time now? Who would you like to see as the next manager? For me, I’d go for Carrick, did a decent job at Boro, had experience in the championship, and had pedigree as a very good player that you’d like to think that even our pathetic 1st team squad would look up to and listen to?
Easier for me to say who the "no" would be. I wouldn't want Revell, Solskjaer or Martin (or Trollope who seems to have snuck in the bottom there). I wouldn't be overjoyed with Wagner, but we are where we are. The others, fine. I'd also take Big Sam.
I think we need someone who will put a few ****s into the team, who plays players in their right positions. None of this fannying with inverted this and that. Feel we need to go back to basics, have a reboot. From that list, not sure anyone fits that mould. O’Neill perhaps. Or Gerrard. Not saying I want these btw, just think they could sort the players attitudes out.
Itll be some amazing, left field appointment by our glorious overlords, desperate to try and make themselves look clever. And nothing will change, it'll still be just as ****. Honestly, it does not matter who the manager is whilst these charlatans are in charge of our club..
Carrick for me as well. With the state we are in we simply won't get someone that ticks all boxes, but he ticks most of them. Championship experience Worked at similar sized club with promotion goals and started very well Won the lot as a player so would be respected by the players Got the best out of Archer & Azaz previously Out of work, so would be cheap Doubt he'd get a better job anywhere else so might agree to a deal until the end of next season Can't see anyone better than would realistically join us.
Actually out of that list I’d probably prefer Robins or Carrick, think they could also develop patterns of play pretty quick. Im probably wrong on this as I’m a bit thick and not the brightest, but I actually think our midfield is the biggest issue for us in terms of playing through, from defence into attack and back again. We seem to be so easy to cut through so that is the place I’d start.
I mentioned Warnock to my lads about 6 weeks ago. They had no idea who I was talking about. If they bring him in I’d love it if they did a few mic’d up training sessions, Nathan Jones style. Would take less than 30 seconds to call someone a fanny, and grow a pair of ****ing balls.
Said last week but I really don't have a good feeling about Carrick. Think we need someone with a lot more experience than one job lasting 3 years and he doesn't strike me as someone who is going to kick some arse and get into people. I worry we'd see a similar situation to now where he doesn't have the personality or managerial achievements to point at to survive a bad patch. Also I think it's at least arguable that his Boro performance wasn't actually as good as it might have looked. He'd be well down the list for me personally.
Yeah, I can't see it, and "journalism" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, but Dragan did like him...
Oh God, imagine if Mousinho left the skates and we then appointed him afterwards, and then travel to Fratton in the new year with both teams in a relegation battle
