Agreed mate, just rewatched the goal this morning, God knows where my head has been this week as I'd forgotten that one of the four players you refer to was Geertruida who made the lofted pass to Brobbey. Some athlete and some player to get up alongside Brobbey so quickly that late in the game on his first start.

Some squad we've got here mind and that's before we even get the likes of Diarra and Mundle back or get to January.

His passing also has improved immensely, he's really impressed me this season considering the massive step-up.

Not sure what we paid for the lad but it was a bargain.

We’ve only played nine games and had three clean sheets …

… we started well enough against West Ham, Forest and Wolves tbf.

I’d be surprised if Ballard doesn’t start against Everton but I’m half expecting it …

… I think Alderete will play based almost entirely on him being left-footed.

RLB has some big decisions to make and Diarra isn’t even fit yet <laugh>

Hate Monday games, but love these threads.

I would like to see Talbi on the right. Other than that Regis can do what he likes, he nearly always gets it right.

I hope we have more of the ball against sides like Everton. Just for my personal enjoyment. Watching the likes of Xhaka, Le Fee, Talbi when we have the ball is so much fun.

    Régis Le Bris:
    Alderete trained this morning
We used the back 5 against Chelsea but Everton is a different challenge
Granit helped a lot on the pitch, he tells the player that they can win, he shows it he tells it in the dessing room
Everton are doing well, they are good, there is evolution in their squad.
As a manager you can have success and other times you can struggle.
Xhaka sets the standards and shows the players how to behave.
We play til the end and we never know what can happen, starters and finishers are important.
It's the best league in the world and I enjoy every moment.
As a manager you have to enjoy the moment but we need to switch quickly to analyse the game.
We are in the spotlight but a new game is a new story, when you are in this part of the table the opposition will be more aware.
We are getting better and its really positive but we still need to win points.
We can feel the fans mood, our fans are top level.
For many players it's a new experience but it's a good mix of youth and experienced players.
Its always better to win games and the experience is really positive.

He was asked about Adingra at the end when Oscar told them to turn their cameras off. Using my limited lip reading skills I'm sure he said "hamstring" and shook his head. Maybe he still carrying the injury.

3 sleeps till Monday. Wish it would hurry up. Going to go to bed at tea time so it comes sooner.
FWIW I think if we nullify Everton’s set pieces and their ability to win them we win. We need to be strong in the air. I love Hume but I think i’d be playing Ballard Mukiele Alderete and Reinildo for height alone. I think Isidor’s movement into spaces will upset their slightly static defensive unit and I think I’d play Talbi right and Le Fee left to do the same

Talbi looked small compared to some of the players he's come up against. He is quick and agile to counteract that, and hasn't looked phased by the premier league. There's a lot more to come from him.

    • Patterson won't be available. ?
    • Sunderland are strong at home and playing well.
    • Strikers lacking confidence.
    • Long throws are a concern.
    • I've moved on, so have Sunderland.

    That's all he said.

Le Bris has been speaking about Luke O’Nien’s potential involvement this season and on the role that he plays away from the matches.

    NOT SURE IF HE’LL PLAY

“At the minute, we don't know, but what we do know is that we need a full group with a positive energy and everyone knowing his own role. Even if you don't play, you are important for the squad with positive vibes, the way you train every day, the standards that you are setting with this idea to get better every day."

    VERSATILITY

“Luke is like that, he's really positive. After that, he's versatile. He can play as a centre-back, he can play as a full-back, right, left, so he has the potential to help the squad.”

    WILLINGNESS TO LEARN

“He’s a really good example of what we want to build as a club. We want to learn. You have your own skills, journey, background - but his mentality is absolutely fantastic. He wants to learn every day, connect with his team mates, and he knows that there needs to be a strong collective for him to be a good player. He shows a willingness to learn every day and this is a good example for us.”
