The best thing we can do as fans for Joseph is support him. Sing his name, applaud him, get off his back. He is a baby in striker terms. He gives it everything whenever he pulls a shirt on and causes a lot of hassle for defenders. Regardless of what happens next for him he is already a better signing than Dave Bamber.

It was me, I have this argument with my uncle every week, he absolutely loves him. My opinion has never changed, I’m not a fan, it’s just how I see it.
If Joseph had the technical ability of a Tufan, Mcburnie or Belloumi he'd be premier league without a doubt. At this level, you rarely get blistering work rate in the same package with mesmerising ability, and if they do, they tend to spend significant time out in the physio room. Yet you still need a blend of both. Players like Joseph, Slater, Coyle, et al are the glue which holds a coherent team together. They contribute as much if not more than the 'stars' in the side by providing the platform for them to go and play. City fans have always needed a scapegoat, and it's always been this kind of player. Ultimately though, even the best bricklayer in the world is nothing without his labourer, the best sous-chef is nothing without his commis, a chief still needs his Indians and it's exactly the same on a football pitch.
That was my first ever City game. My Dad was always away, but had no interest in taking me anyway. Pestered my Mum to take me. She did! Was in the well standing, had to sign up to membership to get a ticket, got a wee plastic card thing.
I thought he was great. Barging around, clattering into people, often failing to stay on his feet, non stop running…and scoring goals. I don’t understand football anyway, but loved him playing for us.
Most abiding memory of that game is that if City had held on to win the Hillsborough disaster would not have happened. Though it might have only delayed the disaster for another couple of years. That stadium had seen injuries to fans in the seasons before, (FA Cup semis) due to over crowding at that end, but was still chosen to host Liverpool vs Nottm For. PS.Maybe we need a separate W. They still hadn't learned their lesson by 2004 when 9,000 City fans were funnelled into two pay-on-the-night turnstiles, made worse when neither of them apparently had any change. I can still see the crowd outside desperate to get in the stadium when City had already gone one up. Massive. **** 'em.
Only benefit for me with the turnstile jolly was the bloke on it who said embarrassingly “ just give me a fiver”
Hopefully, Joseph will learn a lot from McBurnie and his finishing will improve. Can't fault his effort tho.
After the tragedy I was surprised when they told us to just give 'em a fiver and be quick about it. My mate who was with me collected the fee back from the coins thrown at us from their muppets.
I was there comrade......I persuaded a couple of mates to set off 30 mins earlier than planned....Got in right on the kick off. Not kidding you we got through that tunnel and the game kicked off. We couldn't have timed it any better. Still it was a shambles of third-world propositions. I recall complaining to a copper on a horse who said, "What are you having a go at me for?..." I nearly mentioned the disaster, but tactfully kept my mouth closed. There were City fans still trying to get in 10 mins into the 2nd half.
Yes I got on just before kick off. A massive cock-up by Wednesday and our police as well. Afterwards, they were quoting police intelligence and that they were expecting 2000 to travel. Should have just asked any city fan beforehand as everyone was planning to go that day.
I have to say that he became a very good striker in the second tier, that one season when he scored about 24 goals he was pretty much unplayable. I think his mistake was going to Newcastle. They had Beardsley, and of course if you are a Newcastle player, you play it to Beardsley's feet, not a long ball to Billy. He still managed a goal in every 4 games there, so by no means a donkey.
As others have said, he was crap to start with, really crap. Then great (for us). As recounted in this song wot I wrote, which strangely has never been used as the music to run out to at HCAFC.

I'd be tempted to revert the formation back, move Joseph and Joffy to the wings and give Destan his first start. Crooks would play in behind. Tough call which CB drops out but if Ajayi is fit I would probably keep him in the team for his distribution (although it wasn't great against Charlton). Joseph tends to come inside and lets Giles which has worked well this season. Would limit our sub options for the second half however. If we're behind we would be relying on Ndala to come on and change the game from an attacking POV which feels like a lot given we haven't seen him since the early part of the season. We could then switch to the 5 at back if we need to sure up and see out the game.
