Chelsea have romeu who is very highly rated, as well as mikel, with ramieres, merieles able to play the defensive role, chelsea need a playmaker they dont need tiote, like the op has said if he leaves it will be man u or liverpool

I'm going to put it out there, and I apologise in advance, but one thing people aren't considering is whether he is actually good enough for the top 4. Yes, he's good, and a real folk hero for us, as well as being a great match to our team, fans and club, but I question how good he really is. His energy is fantastic, and you can't fault his effort, but he was reckless last season, and hadn't hit form prior to his injury this season.

Perhaps what we're not considering, is that realistically, the bigger clubs may not think he's good enough, Man U won't sign him, he's too much of a risk, and I'd say the same for Chelsea. So that just leaves Liverpool, and worryingly we know they have little/no quality control when it comes to signings.

And ultimately this is what would annoy me most were he to go. He suits us perfectly, but I think he'd fall short elsewhere, it would pain me watching the fickle bin-dipper fans turn on him when he accumulates a lot of bookings or sythes someone down after 10 mins. He'd be wasted somewhere else, and not appreciated.

None of that would stop Ashley selling, but at the same time, I think the papers are stirring things up that may in reality not be there.

i don't know why the players wouldn't just see out the season and if it doesn't work out, then maybe they'll leave like has been stated many times, pardew even said this season we will have to do well or push forward to keep our best players, we're doing well, everyone seems to be working together, i thought tiote would have gone in the summer if he was going anywhere and personally he doesnt seem like a player who would be happy being cycled around or anything like that, he ain't goin no where, its funny how the media put us down at any chance they have but yet they'll speculate constantly about our players leaving ....BECAUSE THEY'RE GOOD?

  6. Why does anyone else here care about getting massive money for him? Isn't it already obvious that most of that cash will not be spent on players, and we'll go after a cheap option like we have done over the last two transfer windows?

if you look back it seems like ashley tried to do what the fans wanted and made some ****e decisions or the managers at the time did, which in turn he has tried to patch up that ****e which has caused alot of friction but now is really the best time he's had here, if he is a buisinessman i don't think he's just going to throw this away, when the club will be profiting for the first time under his reign, has a strong team to work with, we're in a good state, now we could see fat mike easing up a little bit, the fans, the players, staff seem to all be trying to push forward, i personally think mike ashley will want to also, it's really been this looming fear of ashley that has everyones attention, if this can be lifted, we are going to soar

    isnt lucas crocked though?

anyway, dont see why anyone would bid for Tiote when they could pick up De Rossi for a relative pittance since he'll be in the last 6 months of his contract

This. Its far better to have these actual valuable assets than being the team of middle aged also rans who no one was interested in. Under Shepherd we must have been haemorraging money signing the likes of Owen who we'd never get a fee for at the other end. Its sad to see players go but turnover is normal at football clubs, if we get a stupidly high offer it should always be considered. The only reason we're becoming a 'selling club' as some say is because we've actually got players who people want to buy...

We really shouldn't sell Tiote. We got a £20-25mill value player for only 3 million quid. Whilst we've been lucky enough to have this opportunity, let's take advantage of it and keep this top-4-quality player in our side and use him.

I'd be surprised if he was sold to be honest. We're thread-bare in midfield now and if Ashley had even a ****ing spelk of intelligence he would know how important Tiote is to our team. If he is sold, we go down the table. Simple as that.

And I don't think any of the teams with long-term absent DMs will buy Tiote. They wouldn't spend so much money on a temporary fix. They will need someone who is prepared to drop to the bench when the injured player is healed and re-joins the squad.

  16. No one wants to sell him but if the right amount of cash comes along, he will be sold.

To quote a technicality we didnt buy Ba he was on a free. What I mean is we have not purchased a striker. The point here is that Ba was signed after last season ended.

I hope to dear god we dont sell him. Im just getting a bit concerned thats all.

If someone offers between 20-25 he will be gone, but I can't see someone doing that. Although if you had told me on the 20th January last year that we would sell Carroll for 35m I'd inform the local psychiatric hospital.

The only team that needs that area and can possibly afford it are Man U, however for that sort of cash they could get two very talented midfielders from Europe or South America (i.e nicolas gaitan), and they really need a flair type playmaker, which we can all agree Tiote is not!

Tiote didnt leave in either of the last two windows, and this season he's underperforming and is injured. Must we do this every 6 months?
