The rivalries thread just got me thinking - I've never lived in Hull or the surrounding area. My old man is a massive City fan (as was his old man) so has been taking me for as long as I can remember. Supporting City is perfectly 'normal' for me as it's all I've ever known but I'd be interested to know how many others are in a similar situation or if almost everyone else on here is from Hull or nearby.

I know of Febbos and HFFP but is there anyone else?

Ah, I assumed you'd moved there - how come you ended up following the tigers then?

When I went to the zoo as a child the tiger was my favourite animal but rugby is for queers so I found Hull City instead.

I personally commend all you "foreigners" and bid you the most hearty welcome even if it's a bit late to do so. At least no one in your home cities can say you are plastic fans or glory hunters.Well done Guys.

<laugh> Would be if it was true!

I've actually been going my whole life as my dads a big City fan, he's originally from Wakefield or Driffield or somewhere like that, and he's taken me since I was about 2 years old. I remember as a mascot scoring 5 past Alan Fettis in a pre match warm up <laugh>

I've never lived in Hull or East Yorkshire but my dad is and he got me supporting the mighty Tigers from the age of 6. He was in the army and we were living in Germany at the time. Ironically, both of my brothers were born in Harrogate and one of them supports TWS!!!

Have stayed in Hull for about 16 days in 3 visits to Yorkshire in my life to date.Born in Cumbria and lived there until aged 24 when I left the UK permanently 45 years ago.Married a Hull lad who has supported the Tigers since attending their first post-war league match in 1946. He left Hull and Yorkshire at age 21 and at age 28 also left the UK 45 years ago.

I've spent a total of about three days in Hull, perhaps five in Yorkshire. The first time was in the late 80's. The second was last September. I've never lived in England either.

    Haha

He's probably from Driff. Wakey is near Leeds.

I'll fess up here. I was born in Doncaster but moved to the area when i was very young. My old man's a Mackem from South Shields but took me to Boothferry Park when i started secondary school. He gave us the option to go see Wednesday, Leeds or Sheff Utd (all had had spells in the top flight in the 90s, early 00's when i was young) but i chose City. All my mates at school were City fans, despite it being a bad era for us and the fanbase being pretty poor.

I've never lived in Hull - born Leeds, (I know!) and now live in Manchester. But my Dad's from Hull and took me to Boothferry Park back in the 80s. Thus ensuring I grew up to be a Tigers fan and never went near TWS.

For some reason I presumed you were an Englishman abroad. So you are a real life American tiger?

Long story but to make it short, I was in a boys choir as a youngster. We toured a lot of England. Spent a night in Hull, stayed with a great family whose father was a preacher at the church next door. Some friendly kids taught us to play cricket and we taught them to play baseball. I even remember a chubby gal chasing we Americans around. Anyway, we went to Leeds the next night, stayed with a family who owned a big boarding house. I was scared ****less of the place and the kids there made fun of our accents.

Got more into the football three or four years ago so a pal and I decided to pick premiership teams. We aren't frontrunners and he happens to live on Burnley Avenue so he picked Burnley. Hull stuck out, I did some research and found you all hate TWS so it was an easy pick for me.

    That wasn't so short!

I'm a real life American and I reckon as much a tiger as someone who has that small a connection to Hull can be.

Went to Hull University in 1975, never having bothered with watching live games (At Leicester) before, went to fer ark with a few student mates and got hooked. Left Hull in 1984, had a season ticket sometimes and made at least a few matches ever since, despite having lived in Birmingham, Paris, Edinburgh, Reading and now Warwickshire, hence the current name.
